“Average”
Found staff not that helpful in directions or a map. Room looked clean but on closer inspection was grubby with fingerprints on mirrors, carpet not properly cleaned. Bathroom was tired and quite pokey. Room from balacony in contrast was beautiful. Steps leading into foyer and there seemed to be no assistance in helping with luggage.
“Not really impressed”
I think my feelings about this stay can be summarised as follows: I expect more from a four and half start hotel; this really felt like a three star hotel.
“We are already booked to go back!”
My visit to the Grand Chancellor Hotel was for medical reasons as the hotel is located in close proximity to St. Andrew's Hospital. But I have to say I was very impressed with the hotel for their caring and professional approach to our stay. We will be going back very shortly, again for medical reasons, and again staying at this hotel because we are so impressed.
“was nice”
Loved the hotel and the area was really nice, view for top floors and parklands across the road were excellent. All the staff where nice and helpfull with any question we had. Found the hotel's food prices where rather high when 2mins down the road you could get more food than what the hotel served for half the price. Hotel had a few things on the walls they were fixing like cracks and such. Otherwise was a great place for a relaxing trip away
“Very good service”
We would recommend the hotel as we have hotel service was very good. Approximately 5minutes walking distance to Central Station and good restautrants such as Pink Piano.
“Great weekend getaway”
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel room was nicer than the pictures! We had a nice large bed and the shower was very large. We had a little balcony and quite a nice view of the river and Roma St Parklands which was quite handy since the multicultural festival was on there that weekend. Very nice hotel which has its highs and lows to it's location....it is a little further to walk for a selection of restaurants (there are just a couple in close proximity) but because it's a few blocks out of the very middle of the city it is a bit more peaceful. Would definitely stay again!
“Highly Recommended”
Great hotel in great location. Excellent service from the minute we walked in the door. Our room overlooked the city which was very beautiful at night. Modern, clean and very comfortable room. The only downside was the size of the bathroom. It was very very small and like a closet, but other than that everything else was excellent. We had room service for lunch and dinner and the food was very very nice. The chef even made up a special cheesy pasta for our 2 year old son, he ate every last bite. Overall we would highly recommend the Grand Chancellor and we will definitely be staying here in future when we visit Brisbane.
“Very convienent to station and city”
Good location, central and close to tour bus stop
“One of the Cheapest Hotels in Brisbane but They're Overcharging.”
This is a run-down crappy hotel which isn't really in a great location at all. You need a taxi to get into the city, and there is nothing [not even a convenience store] nearby. The internet is $30/day and it's worth $3 - if that. Room service has one, maybe two, edible dishes. Although, to be fair, the speed of room service is quite rapid. The management are unprofessional, and inexperienced. After a 5 night stay [prepaid], I extended for one night over the phone...telling the receptionist I would pay when I checked out. All was fine. From that point, I think I endured 4-5 insulting phone calls from management who I guess were panicked about the risk I would leave without paying for the last night. Idiots. My constructive feedback was met with derision when I checked out. I do NOT recommend this 'hotel'.
“Comfortable”
we had a comfortable stay but i think what i thought was funny was we did a upgrade of our room and we were suppose to get fruit and water with it and all we got was 1 apple.....
