The location of the hotel is perfect for all the sites and for shopping. The room was on the small size but the bathroom was large. The personnel were very courteous and helpful. They also spoke English. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again. I did not eat the breakfast because there were coffee shops nearby with wonderful pastries. The one recommendation I suggest is that they should post the directions on how to use the new coffeepot/teapot. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were of fine quality which made them soft to the touch, which I appreciated.
This hotel is located right in the middle of old Bordeaux, surrounded by restaurants, shopping and major sights. The price was great with Expedia's discount. The breakfast (paid separately) was awesome - fresh orange juice, croissants, yogurt, fromage and charcuterie. Only issue is getting to it, since it is in a pedestrian only zone, which means you need to park a short two blocks away from the hotel. Taxis can take you directly to their front door. Decoration of lobby and rooms was outstanding for the price. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Delightful, small and personal hotel within easy walking distance of the city centre. A perfect base for exploring the city of Bordeaux. Excellent dining recommendations from the friendly and helpful staff.

"Great staff, central location, wine shop on site."
I stayed here for a long weekend in a party of 9 for a friend's birthday getaway in two studios and two 2-bed apartments. We arrived early for check in and overwhelmed the small lovely reception area with our many bags. The staff were very accomodating in granting us access to two of the rooms early so that we could drop off our baggage and enjoy the city. Likewise they were very helpful with early morning check-out arrangements on our last day. The staff were incredibly helpful with everything from lending us international power adaptors to phoning to confirm our restaurant booking for us.
The rooms were all very proportioned with clean modern interiors with cleverly integrated kitchenettes. Our studio had the quirk of a seperate toilet with a sink with only a cold tap, located on the opposite side of the room to the bathroom. Not my preferred arrangement but not a dealbreaker by any means.
Due to its location, we could walk everywhere and take in the many sights. We love the Gothic architecture, museums and many great restaurants and even found a lively flea market for a few bargains. The bus and tram stops were nearby and the airport only half an hour and 1.50 euros on the bus. All in all, a great city break to be recommended.
Our stay in the Aparthotel Adagio was a nice surprise. This newly opened hotel just off Place Gambetta welcomed us with Bordelais hospitality. The staff addressed our requests with courtesy and expediency. Our room upgrade was much appreciated as was the quiet and cleanliness of the hotel.
We will return to this hotel if we have the opportunity to visit Bordeaux again and we recommend it to anyone wishing a pleasant, uncomplicated stay in the city center.
My husband and I just returned from Bordeaux, where we had to gone to visit a number of chateaux in the region. We chose to stay at The Trand Hotel because we wanted a chance to get to know the city center as well as the wine country. The hotel is in a fantastic location, right across from the opera. while you will spend a great big of time in a car to get to the chateaux, it is well worth staying in Bordeaux proper to experience it all. The staff at the Grand Hotel was wonderful; the bellmen and concierge in particular. They were friendly, helpful, and always greeted us by name and with a smile. We will definitely stay here every time we return to Bordeaux.
