My daughter and I had a short 3 day break in Bordeaux. The City is great with plenty to see and do including wine tours. The hotel made us welcome staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent restaurant with a great value market menu. Fantastic cocktails what more could we ask for.
This hotel is located right in the middle of old Bordeaux, surrounded by restaurants, shopping and major sights. The price was great with Expedia's discount. The breakfast (paid separately) was awesome - fresh orange juice, croissants, yogurt, fromage and charcuterie. Only issue is getting to it, since it is in a pedestrian only zone, which means you need to park a short two blocks away from the hotel. Taxis can take you directly to their front door. Decoration of lobby and rooms was outstanding for the price. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Delightful, small and personal hotel within easy walking distance of the city centre. A perfect base for exploring the city of Bordeaux. Excellent dining recommendations from the friendly and helpful staff.

You tell a mile off that this hotel is privately owned, the staff are so attentive, lovely smell of jasmine essential oil in reception the lovely warm welcome to your room. Ours was a ground floor apartment in the beautiful peaceful courtyard where we had a lovely welcome glass of vino and a tour of their wonderful collection of wines in the amazing cellar. Reading books and drinking wine you forget you are very central to this amazing cosmopolitan city. Bikes are an absolute must at £1.20 a day for site seeing, with bike lanes everywhere and the fact it's nice and flat when you are a novice - bonus! Would we stay again, absolutely without doubt.
Old world charm with modern conveniences. Located in the heart of Bordeaux, close to the Garonne river promenade and great historic buildings. Lots of quality shopping. A beautiful city not as busy as Paris. Lots of wine trips, especially good was a half day trip to the medieval city of St. Emilion and a family run winery , very informative .
My husband and I just returned from Bordeaux, where we had to gone to visit a number of chateaux in the region. We chose to stay at The Trand Hotel because we wanted a chance to get to know the city center as well as the wine country. The hotel is in a fantastic location, right across from the opera. while you will spend a great big of time in a car to get to the chateaux, it is well worth staying in Bordeaux proper to experience it all. The staff at the Grand Hotel was wonderful; the bellmen and concierge in particular. They were friendly, helpful, and always greeted us by name and with a smile. We will definitely stay here every time we return to Bordeaux.
