“Survived the earthquake!”
Very nice hotel, only 2 blocks from the Bologna train station in the heart of the old city. Loved the hotel, walking distance from the old town. Most importantly, it didn't have any damage during the recent earthquake that woke us up at 04:00 A.M. during our second night there!
“Good choice for the business traveler”
An easy walk to the center of town, but a bit bereft of local color. The rooms were immaculate, and service was excellent.
“convenient, quiet and comfortable”
Carlton is very close to the train station which was our reason for booking it. It also gave us a 15 minute walk to and from Piazza Maggiore and walking the porticos of Bologna is a travel experience unto itself. The desk clerks were more helpful than the concierge including recommending a great little restaurant for dinner (IL Veliero). Our room and bath were large and overlooked a pretty courtyard.

The room is cozy and elegant. Quite area near the train station. All you neeed in a hotel. it was affordable only because of a Expedia promotion and it was the end of a Fair. The regular price is TOOOO expensive.
“Almost-modern, business-oriented hotel”
Very large hotel by the standards of mid-sized European cities. Good-sized room; HDTV and Sky satellite TV (meaning more English-language channels than just CNN and BBC, though not all that many); fine, updated bathroom; good A/C. Hotel is quite near the train station but not in a bad "train station" neighborhood, though it's about two blocks from the main drag. Hotel staff are very friendly, helpful, and English-speaking. The garage is right under the hotel and reasonable (about 15 euros/day).
“Classy hotel”
Very nice hotel. It has on sight parking. The buffet breakfast was wonderful - bacon, ham, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, variety of croissants, breads, fruit, cold meats, cheeses, etc. About a ten minute walk to town center via streets with lots of stores under covered loggia side walks. Driving directions from web site were easy and helpful. Top floor had nice balconies.
“Excellent Hotel”
This is a very nice hotel with nice facilities. It is 5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes walk from the City Center. the rooms are spacious, with balcony. The breakfast was included in the package and it is worth the money. The staff speaks English but they are not very friendly. Some of the staff from the reception were quite arrogant.

Popular hotel for business meetings - many meeting rooms used by Italian companies, but we felt welcome as tourists.
“Well situated high class and service hotel”
From the reception staff, to the concierge, to the bartenders and room service. Very pleasant and courteous service. Even lent me an US electric adaptor that I forgot to bring. Rooms very clean and spacious with nice bathrooms and showers. Good food from room service. Complimentary evening wine and snacks with very nice breakfast each morning. Good neighborhood - not much more you can ask for from a hotel?
“good central hotel”
The hotel concierge was extremely helpful obtaining tickets for the opera for a sold out performance and making interesting suggestions for restaurants.
