“Excellent Hotel”
On arrival at this hotel they said we had booked one room and not two, however this was soon rectified. The rooms were lovely very spacious, the beds were large and very comfortable, the showers were power shower cubicles, the room was very clean, large tv worked perfectly selection of channels, tea and coffee eyc replenished each day. Little packets of biscuits would have been nice. Good value would definately stay again and recommend to others. I am female in late 40's plus son stayed in other room is in early 20's both very pleased with our selection on Expedia.
“My Favourite Brummie Hotel!”
I was on a low-budget road trip, staying at the cheapest hotels I could find, The Birmingham Hotel was one of the best surprises I had through all two weeks of the trip. Happy & helpful service. Comfortable, clean & homely rooms. I am definitely going back.
“very impressed and I can't wait to go back.”
I was really satisfied with my stay at this hotel spacially the hotel personell. They were very polite and helpful, and the hotel rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel's location was very good, as it is close to downtown Birminghan and its airport. Overall it's very good hotel to stay. The only thing i was not satisfied was the tv; don't have many chanels to choose from and room telephone; don't have access til call international.
“good deal value for the price paid”
large room, clean good value near to 10 minutes or so to birmingham airport i will use it again
“Good Value”
If you are on a budget and like to use the train to access city center, etc. This is a good place. I found the staff very helpful and accommodating. It is, as they say, cheap and cheerful!
“A little off the beaten track!”
This place is old but friendly, and right on the train line so it was convenient for us since we were traveling by train. We enjoyed a less hectic area to stay. However, the cab fare was quoted to us as 6pounds to the Birmingham Internation airport and it turned out 12 pounds...perhaps our cabbie was a little greedy??? or the front desk personal needs to get up to date...Having a restaurant in the hotel was also a plus for us.We'd stay there again.
“3 months in The Birmingham Hotel”
I stayed here for 3 months while working in Birmingham, and recommended it to several of my colleagues. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are big (bigger than I am used to getting in Travelodge, Premier Inn, etc). There are no baths, so the shower is in a cubicle which was a good size in every room I stayed in. The only downside is that the shower head is fixed directly to the wall, but the heat of the water is constant, and has good pressure. The decor is a little in need of repaintng in the corridors, as the walls are scuffed/marked in several places (probably due to bags and childrens mucky hands), though the rooms are fine. The car park is very large and more than sufficient for the size of the hotel (I never saw it more than half full, even when the hotel was fully booked). There is a pool table and large TV in the bar. Overall, good value for money.
“one night stop-over”
we were on our way to nottingham - centre parcs, and needed a place to stay over. didn't have a chance to experience the breakfast due to lack of time, but the hotel beds were amazingly comfortable - and kept moderately clean (there were still cobwebs in the room corners which i feel need to be cleaned) other than that, a pleasant rest stop, and not badly priced at all!
“Does not really know what it wants to be”
Stayed here for two nights. The first night was noisey and plagued by a party downstairs which caused alot of noise. The menu in restaurant was very limited and poor for vegitarians. For the price is was a very poor hotel
“Basic hotel”
This hotel is one train stop to Moore Street where you can then go walking to the town. Train is expensive so be careful when you travel, there are pick and off pick times and the price of the ticket gets 1-2 pound cheaper. It makes difference if you planning to stay for a while. Hotel room is clean but it could use renovation. How much you pay that much you get. Solid hotel for cheep price.
