“Excellent for a business trip”
If you're away for work or on business for a few nights, this place is a brilliant base. Not far from the centre, close to local rail connections, and if you're going to an event at the New Bingley Hall, it's a five minute drive. The bed was VERY comfortable, and the room had everything you need from a conventional hotel. The lighting, TV and showers are all modern and you certainly don't feel cramped. The towels were very nice indeed, and nice to have a full selection of freeview chanels including Film4. I was concerned about the lack of a window, but to be honest, I very rarely look out of hotel windows, and I'd really rather not wake up to a view of a concrete tower block in the distance. There was no telephone in the room, but the receptionist was happy to book me taxis which arrived promptly. My stay was pre-paid for by work, and it was a nice surprise not to have the standard £50 deposit taken from my credit card.
“would definately go back”
Very clean and comfortable room . The staff very helpful and the location very central, the city centre just a walking distance.
“Excellent central Birmingham hotel with everything you need.”
Thoroughly impressed by the Bloc hotel, it's around a 10-15 minute walk to the center of Birmingham, in a nice, safe neighborhood close to some good bars and restaurants. The rooms are small but very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The hotel itself was clean, contemporary and staffed by very helpful people. My only small complaint was that my room wasn't ready until around half an hour after the check in time - Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, otherwise a great hotel where i'll definitely be staying again.
“simple, clean and well done”
Doesn't have a restaurant or a plush lounge but get's the basics right. Clean room, modern interior, comfortable bed.
“Good simple hotel, reasonable price”
This is a good modern hotel which was still looking very new inside, clean and tidy and I would visit again. Only downside was the room wasn't ready till 2:30 when check in is at 2:00
