“Great Staff”
Fabulous view of the mountains from our room. The staff was great and was very helpful in retrieving a lost camera from a ski tram. Our room was fairly large and comfortable. The restaurant was very good - typical Swiss food plus Thai - interesting. This is a good choice for this city.
“The Most Quiet Place in the world!”
It's hard to separate the experience of the hotel with the experience of being in the town of Grindelwald, but we will try! The hotel is a not short, but not long walk from the train station. Nestled on the main street, the Eiger is what I would consider a luxury hotel for non-millionaires. We were greeted with a glass of white wind and promptly checked into our room. Quick tip---we had a room in the back building of the hotel (there is a street facing building and another behind it), and actually found that our view and quietness were nicer than we expected. We woke up each morning to the sight of the Eiger mountain without the sound of people or cars...very relaxing. Loved our room, but more than that, we LOVED the complimentary bike rentals from the hotel, the included breakfast (that puts other hotel breakfasts to shame!) and the adjoined restaurant next door....GREAT BURGERS!!! Most of the town shuts down quite early (6-7pm-ish), and it was our hangout for good meals after long days of hiking and bike riding.
“Wonderful weekend at the Eiger”
We had a lovely time at this hotel. It was well located and had great facilities. We especially loved that our room had an unblocked view of the Eiger. The only drawback of our stay were that the bed in the double room was two single beds put together, the mattress was too soft and the pillows were almost flat. Howeve, the pleasant and helpful staff at the hotel replaced our pillows with support pillows when we gave our feedback about the room. They were also helpful in giving us recommendations as to which sledge runs we're the best and where to go. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel for a stay in Grindelwald.
