“Very welcoming hotel”
although its not directely in venice, like by the water and canals, its a short car or bus ride away. It was very family oriented, very nice staff, comfortable room, they helped you no matter your question. I would definetly recommend the hotel to others!
“Nice Hotel dont be put off by the 2 stars....expensive though! but that is Switzerland”
Nice and clean hotel. I actually booked this hotel by accident. I meant to book a 4 star hotel which had a similar name but I wasnt disappointed with this hotel only that it was the same price as the 4 star hotel I had wanted to book. It is extremely good for a 2 star I would actually give it 3 stars.
“Excellent location.”
Small hotel, excellente service at front desk, the breakfast sufficient. The ubication was best, near to University campus, you can walk 10-15 minutes and reach the train station (rail city) near to downtown. You must walk on busy streets, stop for buy gifts, or dining. The river is impressive.
“Would go back”
Nice hotel, rooms good value for price, especially in Switzerland. Central to attractions. Good breakfast. I unfortunately left my mobile phone charger behind and no effort was made to return it to me even though hotel had my phone number, next destination and home address.
“A Pleasant Stay”
My boyfriend and I enjoyed a nice short visit with this hotel. The loby is nice with courteous staff who speak english. We had a room in the back building of the hotel. You had to walk through a courtyard into the second building. They had a elevator, but it is very small. We could barly fit the two of us and our luggage. But of course its better then not having a elevator at all. It got the job done! Our room was much bigger then I expected. Many clostests, comfortable bed etc. The washroom was small but long in shape. It was a bit tight, but was okay. They didnt have air conditioning which wasnt to much of a problem for us. We kept the windows open one night and had a bunch of little bugs fly in because of the lights. They just sat on the ceiling pretty much so it wasnt a problem really. The hotel wasnt in the middle of the old city which makes it a bit cheaper, but the walk is easy to get to everything. I would stay here again no problem.
“Decent Hotel in Bern”
I stayed three nights at the Hotel Arabelle in Bern. It was fairly easy to get to from the main train station -- about a three minute bus ride. For Bern, it was a cheap hotel, which I thought was reasonable for the accommodations. The staff was very friendly and spoke fluent-enough English to complete the transaction. My room (a single) was cozy but aging. The shower was extremely small by American standards, but the water pressure was amazing and there was plenty of hot water. If you don't want to pay for wireless access (I think 5 CHF for 30 minutes and 15 CHF for 3 hours), you can use the guest computer near the front desk - just make sure you log out after you're done to wipe your data. The free breakfast was plentiful and pretty good - fruit, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, bread, cereal, cheese and coffee/espresso. I made sure to stock up for the rest of the day - food in Bern is relatively expensive (cheaper if you take food to go). Overall, I thought it was a decent hotel to stay in for a traveler aiming to spend more time in the city than in the hotel. I would stay there again.
“Ok, but nothing great”
This hotel was nicely located, right off the bus line which runs to the train station. Easy access to the old town and everything else from the central hub of transportation there. However, the bathroom is very small and enclosed and the shower smelled mildewy and had some black spots in the corners . . . The breakfast is plain, but plentiful, with croissants, rolls, yogurt, juice, tea, coffee, and cheese and salami. The negative is that the lobby and breakfast room are smoky, because the staff smoke in there. And the king-size bed quoted was a double . . . It's ok, especialy for a budget. But nothing great.
“Good if you are on a budget”
We stayed for three nights and overall it was OK if you are on a budget. There is still construction going on and the workers started at 7:00 am. The walk to and from the train station is about 20 minutes but if you want to walk to save money on a taxi, it can be done. The staff was helpful and they all spoke English.
“Noisey Bells near Arabelle”
Our September stay was poorly timed---the exterior was undergoing renovations. At 0730h daily workmen were on staging outside our window. Also the first room we were given had no door on the bathroom. Loud churchbells rang hourly thru the night and were annoying at best. Location and breakfasts were very good.
“don't recomended”
they give us a hard time during the check in & also once we need to order any thing
