"Room was essentially clean & useable & it served our purpose for a short over night stay in Bennington. There was a musty smell as if room hadn't been used much recently. we turned on the A/C & that helped."

"The price is right. The property is not maintained well. It wouldn’t take much effort to improve it - tidy up and mow/weed wack. The staff was very nice and explained things well. The room was clean and the bathroom was remodeled. The air conditioner worked well. The town is a great place to find food, shops, and history - very quaint."

"Modest but clean accommodations with a window that wouldn't close after being opened. The room was stuffy and needs to be aired out. The gentleman at the desk had difficulty understanding spoken English so communication was difficult. I requested my usual room on he front side of hotel but was told they were sold out even though there was only one car in their parking lot. In fairness there was. large group of otocyclists at the neighboring hotel so perhaps it was sold out but I suspected they gave me a back room because my rate was lower through Hotels.com? It's ok, but nothing special."

"I found it annoying that my internet connection was so complicated to set up. Other hotels just have a password code. Easy. I also could not watch any TV without having to join a streaming service. Other hotels offer this for free to watch cable. A manual or directive instructing clientele on paper/ laminated would be helpful as the older generation do not all have smart phones and are lost as we can’t view hotel instructions via phone. The elevator was very loud from my room also. I luckily sleep soundly but the noise would keep someone else awake perhaps"

"We had an excellent 4 day stay at HoneyBear! We came to see our daughter graduate from Bennington College and Linda Jane left some graduation celebration items (my daughter is using the Class of 2026 cup right now) which was very thoughtful. While graduation was rainy and cold, the other days of our stay we had wonderful breakfasts on the deck over looking the pond and enjoying the baby geese swimming by. My only issues were the lack of bedroom doors...especially on the first floor. It was a little uncomfortable for my parents and my father-in-law. So grateful to have the half bath in the loft. We were good going up and down the ladder, but in the middle of night....Super comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, wish we had booked for the week!"

"This was the second time I’ve stayed at this location, first time under New Englander Inn name. Both times I was impressed by how clean and organized the breakfast area was. A staff member was constantly in and out cleaning up and restocking the breakfast items."

"Talk about charm...this is a beautiful and well-maintained Victorian home. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and well appointed. The Thai restaurant inside the inn was excellent, and there was a live pianist on Friday evening to add to the charm."
