“Xijiao Hotel Beijing”
The complex is large and you have to get the staff to mark on your key holder exactly which building breakfast is served, and also between what hours. It's well worth finding when you get there. Cleaning is discreet (remember to put the DND sign on your door while you're inside). Brandy was only available in my block by the bottle (VSOP), but whiskey of all makes in any volume desired. Lots of different types of eating place within the complex. Bed hard but comfortable (I'm a poor sleeper). I had an apartment which came with a complete kitchen and a notice that anything can be hired. Quiet and safe. University District with good supermarket/department store plus metro station down the road.
“Brilliant”
If you are going to Beijing you must stay at this hotel. clean, comfortable, cheap and with 24 hr service and everything you need. On top of that, the xijiao is in wudakou which is lively and bustling with great restaraunts, cafes and nightlife.
“great hotel, great service”
The workers here were super friendly, the hotel was very quiet and located about 10 minutes from the subway. There are many Korean restaurants right outside and it's near several universities so lots of friendly people. I really enjoyed my stay here.
“Fantastic Stay”
I had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Xijiao hotel! The staff was very friendly and spoke was very patient with me when I would communicate to them with my limited Chinese. There were also a few staff members that spoke English.. The hotel was very clean and modern, despite being there for a few years. The Wudaokou neighborhood is a very quaint neighborhood was well, very good for college students, as it is right near Tshinghua University. I will defiantly be staying here the next time I am in Beijing and I would recommend the Xijiao hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay that is near Tshinghua University and in a vibrant neighborhood!
“Adequate hotel near Tsinghua University”
Rooms are small but clean and functional. Free internet (via ethernet cable, not wireless). The weakest part of the room was the bed... if you're old enough to remember The Flintstones cartoon, remember the rock beds they slept on? Well that's what the bed at Xijiao was like. Not a big deal for me but it might be unacceptable to some.
“A great base to explore the Wudaokou area of Beijing”
We recently stayed at this hotel while apartment hunting in the Wudaokou area of Beijing. The hotel is great value, clean, and has excellent facilities - several hotels, a 7-11 shop, pool, gym, bowling alley etc. The rooms are comfortable and clean but we found the bed quite hard - turns out this is a Chinese thing, not a hotel specific thing! The hotel did try to remedy the situation for us and supplied additional duvets and pillows to make our stay comfortable. The air con in our bedroom was fantastic, and free internet is supplied. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the main shopping and restaurant areas of Wudaokou and also the subway station, so I can't fault the location. My only minor complaint is regarding maintenance of the room. The bathroom door handle was broken meaning that my partner ended up locked in the bathroom until I saved him! Also the toilet blocked one night, but was soon working again. We stayed in the cheapest of rooms, but the hotel offers rooms of much higher standard that I can imagine are far nicer. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a base in the Haidian district of Beijing. Possibly too far to explore central Beijing.
“Nice hotel”
The beds were hard, but that is pretty standard in China. The rooms were nice and thoughtfully laid out. We had asked for a non-smoking, but we got a smoking room, so that was disappointing. We had it aired out by the 3rd day. Our toilet was not working, but the staff was diligent to get it repaired and it was fine after the 2nd day. The in-room computer was a bit slow but (barely) compensated for not having wi-fi. The pool was indoor and quite nice. The breakfast buffet was not free and they only took cash. Still, I would recommend it - we got a v. good deal through Expedia (stay in building 9 if you can)
“Xi Jiao Hotel”
Having stayed in many hotels in China over the years, we picked the Xijiao as it was in an area familiar to us. The check in and out was the best we've had in China, only a couple of minutes. We had a spring promotion room in building 4, and it was well worth the money paid. Breakfast was ok, there could have been a better western selection, but on the whole we got enough to survive until lunch. The hotel is 10 mins walk from the metro and near the universities. Some people might prefer to be more central in Beijing but taxis are cheap and the metro is quick and easy. I would definately stay here again.
“The best in the neigborhood of the unversity "town".”
The rooms execeed my expectation both in terms of cleanliness and appointment. The staff was helpful despite the limited English proficiency. The western breakfast was inferior for an establishment otherwise a great value for money.
“Nice Hotel”
The hotel room booked was for a single; however you do get a double bed with all the facilities required. On site facilities are very good, you have 10 pin bowling, pool room, games room, swimming pool and a spa surrounded by various restaurants. Close by there is a subway which is very easy to use, and the cost of single tickets are very cheap, so if you don’t mind rushing onto a train and are looking for a little bit of an adventure then using the subway in my opinion is the best form of transport to experience the culture and lifestyle of today’s Beijing. Staffs were very helpful and were always eager to ensure that the level of service provided was of a high standard. Maid staffs were very polite and greeted you with a hello every time they would see you walking to and from your room. The only downside to this hotel was queuing at the front desk when checking in/out or waiting to ask a question. Other people would have no regards to you being there and would walk right in front of you and not even acknowledge that you were there. In all the cases front desk staff would not take notice about this and this did frustrate me. I would suggest you do the same at the hotel but also be cautious when at shops and other tourist attractions. Overall I did enjoy my stay at the hotel and would stay at the Xijiao Hotel again and would recommend this hotel to others.
