“Would stay there again.”
We were most pleased with the location which was within walking distance of other hotels, all shopping needs, restaurants, night life, the Bank of China and immediate taxi service. Tienaman Square is about a 15 minute walk. The breakfast buffet was reasonable and exceptionally good. The staff was most helpful and courteous.
“Perfect location”
In the heart of the modern commercial district of Beijing. Near the Forbidden City and walking distance to the Subway. Near the crowd but not inside. However tehre is a construction right in front of the hotel wich -in spite of the double glass windows- could lightly disturb during the night. (May 2005)
“Enjoyable stay”
Taiwan hotel is good value for money hotel friendly and helpful staff. So close to the main action of Beijing walking to the sights or the shops is a pleasure. recommend this hotel to all. Only exception was the tour I recommend using another tour operator or you can spend half a day going to the shops.
“Taiwan Hotel Beijing”
The hotel was very nice. The staff was very friendly and many spoke English. They were constantly coming in the room and making it up. Every time I left and came back the bed was remade... that is after they made it the first time. The forbidden city is a 20-30 minute walk from the hotel, but there is not a whole lot to do around the area. I highly recommed this hotel.
“good position”
the hotel it's ok, friendly staff, no problems with english for basic needs. One of the best attribute it's the location: really central respect to one of the more busy areas of town and not far from "forbiden city" the most important monument of the town.
“Good hotel, great location.”
This is a good hotel in a very handy location. It's a few minutes walk to Wangfujing street and a further 10-15 mins to Tianaman Square/The Forbidden City. The room was nice and clean and good value for money, with reasonable space, a good bathroom and a TV (with CNN!). A taxi to the airport takes around 45 mins and costs 70-80 quai. I had read about a taxi scam on another review site, involving the hotel doormen booking you dodgy taxis to the airport that charge twice as much, so I just flagged one outside (won't take you very long) which was fine.
“Good location”
The hotel is in a great location - close to the subway, the Forbidden City, Wangfujing shopping district and Tian' an Men Square, to pick a few. The hotel is clean (although there was an abiding stench on my floor for a few days before someone got to it), if unspectacular. The clerks are available but not particularly pleasing in their style. The room was clean and comfortable, but not modern. Good value for the money.
“Great Location”
Very good location for sightseeing. Some hotel staff spoke broken English so we managed to communicate ok! They were very helpful in arranging trips, flights etc. Breakfast not great if you are after a fry up, however, if you only want bread, fruit etc.. it is ok if not a bit pricey. Buffet dinner is good value for money with plenty of choice but food could do with being a bit hotter. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
“Good value hotel”
A good hotel, good value and close to one of the main shopping streets, Forbidden city and Tiennanmen square (and tube station). The room was spacious and very comfortable... the service was ok but nothing more, the staff could smile a bit more ... I have eaten at the Japanese restaurant of the hotel which was a bit expensive for what was on offer. Anyway a great place if you are just looking for a good comfortable room.
“Clean basic hotel, close to lots of stuff!”
The Taiwan Hotel Beijing is basically a very simple and clean hotel to stay in. The king size bed was very comfortable in Beijing standards and they did offer some convenient services such as currency exchange at the hotel and a decent breakfast buffet. The best part is how close it is to Wangfujing Street, Tiananmen Square and extremely easy to grab a taxi from that thotel. I'd recommend it for anyone who doesn't want a fancy hotel but a basic and clean place to stay in.
