......enjoyed our two (2) night stay !.....hotel under new management with a new name than before. .....seems to be family owned and runned....nice updates in rooms.......close to shopping, eating and public transportation hubs.......can walk to everything if needed......staff was helpful and friendly.......reasonable prices.......will try to find a reason to visit again before the year (2009) is over........try the hotel/motel again, if you had bad experiences in past, it is nice now and i hope it stays that way for a long, long time.....................lydia/brooklyn, ny

“Good for sleeping in, which is the point.”

A small, simple room, just what I needed for a post-party crash-space. Someplace to come back to and sleep, which is just what they provided. The staff was very helpful and cooperative with check-in, despite a possibly frustrating communications snafu in the booking. She resolved it pleasantly, and get me set up without any problems. The room itself was fine, bathroom door-handle sticks a bit but hardly a concern. Overall, it gave me what I needed, which was a good night's sleep.

Considering this is really the only hotel in the area within walking distance and near to my daughter, I really had no choice. The staff were always polite and very eager to bring whatever we needed at any hour. The internet was out-of-order on it the entire 5 days, so we were unable to print our boarding passes. My son-in-law had stayed there when he came for his interview with the hospital so he recommended the up front rooms. Upon entering the property there was an unusual group hanging around the property, they did not bother us. It was within walking distance to a shopping area.

OK so this is the real deal for this hotel... If you are looking for a decent clean place to stay that is convenient,(6 bux per person to the FI ferry )and no frills, serving as a convenient alternative to a long commute home after a day at the beach, this is a good spot. There is no ambiance and it is a lil funky but it is a great value for a quick getaway. To the left about a mile is Islip with a cute Main Street and restaurants, and a bar walking distance (kirby o neils) for a nightcap. If you are not into the luxurious lifestyle this place works.

A clean and comfortable stay. I would not want to be stuck in the room all day but a great startpoint to go out fishing and fun seeking from.

“Location is the only asset”

I would recommend the hotel for location only as it is very convenient to the Fire Island Ferry and Main st in Bay Shore. it is an old motel and the condition goes along with that. Staff was friendly. Hard to find with a small sign. Wi fi did not work in the room, just the lobby.
