Just returned from a one night stay. Excellent friendly service, lovely comfortable, breakfast excellent. We booked two Buisness rooms, highly recommend for the amazing views over the city for miles and the added extras with this package. We have stayed at many hotels in and around Cardiff but must say this was by far the best.
Stayed at the Sandringham on a Sunday night and was pleased by the cheap price. It certainly wasn't a 'it's cheap, what did you expect?' experience at all as everything was near perfect.
The staff were absolutely lovely! So friendly, so informative and so welcoming. Would definitely recommend the hotel based on our welcoming if I'm honest.
The room was small but spacious, the bathroom was decent sized and clean.
We really appreciated the free Wi-Fi (Albeit, it wasn't the best connection or speed but it was free - no complaints!)
The ONLY thing I noticed was a small stain on the duvet cover and one of the lightbulbs (of the 4 lights) had gone. Apart from that (which really didn't bother me), it was a fair price, a great location for seeing Cardiff in the day, such pleasant staff and exactly what you pay for.

This could have been cheap and nasty (I won't name names but there are chains I avoid like the plague). The reviews say 'small rooms' and they're pretty small, that's true, but genuinely, we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were super clean, extremely well laid out (really inventive use of space) and the only tiny thing that wasn't ideal was (I know this will sound ridiculous!) the size of the sink. I'm not exactly tall but I still managed to just get water everywhere when I washed my face. Like, everywhere, though... But then it is a wet room, so it makes zero difference...
Would just also like to say that the staff were fantastic: called me the day before because I'd booked two rooms under one name to 'make booking in a little smoother' when we arrived. They were friendly, polite, knowledgable and a pleasure to deal with (both the day and night staff, hope your management read this and please feel free to share, thank you!) Food in the restaurant was much better than expected (had expected 'scary-looking-straight-out-of-microwave' but it was good).
Breakfast hit the spot, parking not on site but very close, hotel is in the middle of everything but kind of just over the road from it (so no noise over night on a busy Saturday - bonus).
