“Sleek and Classy”
This hotel was modern and very clean. It was located in a safe neighborhood, one block from the metro; 3 stops from Plaza Catalunya in one direction and a few stops from Plaza Espana in the other. Easy access to all major tourist attractions. Restaurant was pricy, but there was a coffee/pastry shop a few doors down for an inexpensive light breakfast. The neighborhood was not filled with tourists and had a quiet terrace with view and free computer access. The beds were a bit too hard and there was some noise heard through the walls, but all in all a good choice for a hotel. Probably not the best choice for a family with kids because of its sophisticate atmosphere.. We enjoyed our 3 nights there..
“Excellent choice”
This hotel is affordable, charming, comfortable... we had great stay. Nothing to complain about. I would go back if I'm ever in Barcelona again. The metro station is just at the corner. The only suggestion I have to give is that if you are looking for a place near where nightlife takes place this is not the right option. This hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, around 20 min walk from Plaza de Catalunya and Ramblas
“Best deal in Barcelona”
This hotel is an incredible value! It's urban cool, modern, well decorated. This was our fourth stop in Barcelona and I have to say, no other place even came close. It's rare to find a hotel this good for such reasonable prices. It's a gem of a place! And the staff is superb.
“great hotel”
modern, stylish and great staff
“Loved the Bar!”
Very attractive hotel. The room was pretty and extremely clean, although it was small. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We particularly liked having a drink in the bar where they had a piano player each night. All in all, a good experience. It had easy access to public transportation and you could get many places by walkiing, but we would rather have stayed a bit closer to La Rambla.
“lovely,modern hotel”
can walk to main square, hotel also near public transportation. Hotel very modern & clean.
“Would definitely stay again”
The Hotel was modern and seemed new. The people were all extremely nice and helpful, both the hotel staff and the restaurant staff. The breakfast was GREAT! We enjoyed our stay at Villa Emilia very much.
“Very nice hotel off the beaten path but close to metrol”
Had a very nice stay at the Villa Emilia. It's a nice boutique that has many of the features of an upscale hotel without all the fluff. I.e. I don't need a doorman, or a bellboy, or any of that stuff, and the Villa Emilia doesn't offer it. Yet the rooms are nice, the hotel is clean and well decorated. Loved the rooftop bar with reasonable (for a hotel) prices for a glass of wine. Two issues: 1. The elevators are slow and confusing 2. They really need to enclose the showers because there is no way to avoid water escaping the shower and flooding 1/3 of the bathroom.
“Excellent hotel”
I recommend Villa Emilia strongly. Very chic hotel, clean, comfortable and efficient. The Eixample district is not in the center of tourist Barcelona, but it is easy to get around by metro, bus or taxi, and the area is smart, clean, and safe. Did not eat at the hotel, but there are many good eating places nearby, and I suspect the hotel restaurant is good. Would certainly go back to this hotel without hesitation.
“Great hotel, bad customer service”
When we checked in we were told by the employee at the front desk that we get complimentary breakfast. The next morning we get up and go to the restaurant and eat breakfast, and following that we were charged 13 euro each. We tell the restaurant worker that we were told that we receive complimentary breakfast, and he told us to speak to the front desk employees. They checked and told us that our room did not come with free breakfast. We told them that we were told that it did, and that's why we ate there. We would not have eaten there had we known we would be charged. They told us to speak to a manager who over the 3 days we were there showed up for 4 hours (during which we were out in Barcelona), so we were never able to talk to them. We told every employee to relay our message to the manager that we would like a refund since we were told by one of them that we get a free breakfast, and no employee ever talked to the manager for us. We ended up having to pay because one of the employees told us the wrong thing.
