I stayed at the Annex for a whole week and Mr. Hilario was very professional and kind. If I return to Barcelona again, I hope to return back to the same Hotel Annex.

booked this place as it was the only place that offered a private bathroom at a decent price. Everything else was shared & overpriced. No kettle in the room nor was there access to one as there was no kitchen at the property, no breakfast facilities in the morning. Best thing was the location everything walking distance like shops, metro station & buses. Smelly room sewage like smell, no actual duvet, just sheets & a old smelly dirty blanket no lift ok fair enough but no decent lighting in the actual room & the stairs leading up to the apartment converted in rooms to rent, I mean a couple of euros job to get some light bulbs up & working you can easily do it yourself without paying anyone. Tv didn’t even work I’d say it’s only for one person I booked it for me & 11 year old daughter & we could be barely move Horrible dirty, no one there like receptionist Kept on saying get eurobus so I could get there fast so she could go well tough I wasn’t paying extra just to get the eurobus as I’d already paid for the three day metro/bus ticket which I would recommend to you to save a lot of money. Internet very slow, Barcelone was amazing, but this hotel or so what ever it is I would not recommend to anyone.

Single room faces a shaft. Needs a luttle improvement, as it seems a little degraded from my previous visit, in october 2018. The location is excellent.

This is not a hotel. Basically an apartment floor that rents out their rooms. We were given the wrong room. We requested a room with twin beds and received a tiny room where the queen bed took up the entire space.

the place is a one star hotel on the second floor with a great location to see the attractions of downtown Barcelona. The staff was helpfull (booked a taxi for us) but there was no daily room service (ie making the bed etc) as far as we could tell (stayed only two nights). Would be good place for young travelers.

The location is perfect. La Rambla, Palau de la Musica Catalana, MUHBA around the corner... Lots of restaurants and gift shops in the street. Metro station at 100 m... The hotel is cosy, with everything you need. Clean and tidy. Staff excellent and helpful. Would recommend the hotel for everyone!!!

Perfect location in the gothic quarter surrounded by hustle and bustle of souvenir shops, fast food and instagrammable brunch places. Only thing was the provision of two single beds rather than a double and bringing them together caused for uncomfortable sleep. Also finding the hotel was tricky if it wasn’t for the owner standing outside scouting for us.

The bed is very comfortable, and the shower is strong. I wish there was a small shelf in the shower to put amenities on. The WiFi is pretty terrible but the the free WiFi at the local restaurant in stronger and easy to use from the room.

Great location, reasonable price
The hotel is in a residential building and is very dark, so does not make for a great welcoming. The hotel is on the first floor and the lift is very small, we were ok as we only had hand luggage but if you had a large case then only 1 person at a time would be able to use the lift. We stayed in room 1 which overlooked the street, the room needs a fresh coat of paint and the shower cubical leaked so had caused the door frame to rot, but on saying this the room was clean and the beds very comfortable, with clean fresh bed linen. The shower was very strong and the water was hot. No room service was available at the weekends but you could help yourself to clean towels and toilet paper if needed. The wi-fi was very good and included in the price. The location of the hotel is superb, it is 1 min walk from the Metro, a 5 mins stroll to Las Ramblas and surrounded by bars and restaurants. The Pl. Catalunya is a 6 minutes walk which is where the Aerobus stop is for transport back to the airport. For me the hotel is very reasonably priced for the location and when i am away i am not there to stay in my room but to see all the sites the city had to offer. To sum up, if you want posh then this is not the hotel for you but for the price it was well worth it. The hotel manager was very welcoming and always on hand. My only thing would be that the rooms could benefit from a kettle to make a hot drink with.

This is not a hotel. This was more an apartment divided into multiple rooms. The is nothing unless you ask such as hair dryer. Hot water would go on and off in the middle of a shower. No AC so that mean no air ventilation unless you open the window but then all of outsides noise come right in and you won’t be able to sleep. There is no reception there you are all on your own. If you are not checking in early in the morning you won’t be able to check in. Only possitive thing for this accommodation is it is in the center of all tourist attraction.

Perfectly situated - but .....
First of all, this place isn’t a hotel. It’s an old building that’s has its 1st floor converted into rooms. It doesn’t have a reception - but you couldn’t be better located to enjoy Barcelona. On arrival we were met (pre - arranged) by the owner and showed our clean and tidy twin bedroom. On opening the door it stuck half way and we had to ‘shoulder’ it to open the door. We were then met with a mild smell of damp / rot. We could see an internal wall adjacent the shower had suffered some issues with damp and the bathroom architrave was rotten at the bottom. Obviously leak issues from the large and very powerful shower. This wasn’t an issue for us on a city break, even after alighting from a cruise ship - it was simply somewhere to get our heads down. The room had a safe (request a key) and was air conditioned. It had Spanish freeview and we just had the radio channels on in a morning. NO KETTLE but a cafe 25m away. Only one issue for us - we were told on arrival Saturday there was no weekend room service, but shown where supples were kept in the foyer area. Yet on Sunday morning the owner was there and asked if we wanted our beds made. We declined as we had already made them. Monday morning, as we left the owner was there too - when we got back at night he hadn’t been in the room. The only bin (in the bathroom) was overflowing. So no room service on Monday either !! No suited for young families - more young people. You get what you pay for!

Very small room but had an idea of that before booking. Great location, close to Ramblas and gothic quarter bars and a short walk to beach. No reception desk. Room keeping service first knocked on Friday after our Tuesday arrival, but we had been told where spare towels were should we require them. No other room keeping other than that 1 attempted visit (which we turned away because we had already found fresh towels, and were having a siesta at the time). Good for the price and location but small room with minimal storage space and lack of service was a let down.

Great value hotel
The air conditioning single room was a big advantage in the hot July, room is clean, and daily room service (except in weekends) , good WiFi, hotel location is fantastic, elevator, safe and secure building, good size cupboard, wonderful staff, especially Hilario, he was absolutely helpful and cheerful, I only give 4/5 not 5/5 because there is no refrigerator and kettle

Amazing Hotel in Barcelona
Amazing hotel. Our room was large! It was in a great location. It is near the gothic quarter and place Catalonia. We always ate nearby and there is a good shopping street not far away. The room was very clean!

My single room was tiny but spotless and had a nice bathroom. You are in the best part of Barcelona, so I consider it a wonderful deal. When you’re in the middle of such a beautiful city, why spend time in your hotel room except for sleeping?

Get what you pay for
Difficult to find, does not in any way resemble a hotel, entry through a metal door directly from pavement. Would not describe as a hotel. More a tiny bedsit toom. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. Staff not often present, friendly upon arrival and throughout but with limited English. Very noisy as building works being carried out on premises which started with very loud and vibrating drilling etc at around 7.30am directly outside our room. Cleanliness appeared satisfactory upon first inspection. However when stripping bed sheets on final morning we found a pair of dirty socks from a previous guest sandwiched between the sheet a blanket. So obviously the sheets were not fresh for our stay, yuk!! Only plus was the location which was within easy access of Gothic Quarter, waking distance from La Rambla.

Hotel okay(ish) once you get to the room
Before we got to the hotel, I received a phone call “where are you”, I replied saying on my way, to which he stated “okay in a taxi?” I replied yes, “ Okay then I’ll wait”, may I ask what was the alternative. We emailed both Expedia and the hotel trying to cancel this hotel as it stated check in stops at 5, to which we was told don’t worry as long as we know you will be later we will be able to get you checked in, not exactly what the guy on the phone told me. When we arrived, we were put in a tiny lift held together with cardboard and shown (very quickly) to our room. Have to say room was nice enough, very basic but absolutely fine and location is great too, only 5 mins to la rambla. Didn’t feel secure at all in this hotel though, staircase was too dark to use the stairs and the lift (as stated earlier) didn’t seem the safest. There is no reception and the balconies window does not shut well. Would I stop here again ??? No purely for safety reasons and the whole check in experience.

The room was nice and very comfortable for me and my partner. There were building work going on in the building next door to our room and it woke us up to drilling and hammers on our wall. Staff did not do anything about this when we notified them. Other than that it was good and everything was in walking distance to us.

Well located hotel
Ideal location in the heart of old Barcelona. Don't let the lobby and lift put you off. The hotel is on the first floor. It is basic but very clean and comfortable. Emilio (on reception) really helpful and nice. Only negative is that the street can be a bit noisy so next time I would bring ear plugs. Also there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Otherwise though I would highly recommend

Well situated and near Port Vell
Very good location and price. Located near port vell and its amazing beaches and restaurants. I would recommend to students or even young adults who dont want to pay too much money to enjoy Barcelona.

A great stay. Central to everything
I Had a good stay here in August '17. Lighting by the stairway was fine by me, i used the lift mainly. Felt very secure, room kept very clean. I had no issues here and had a great stay, I stayed in room 2 with the balcony to look out over. Noise on the street wasn't an issue at all. The only recommendation I would make to the hotel is to add a chair in the room, it wasn't very comfortable using the bed to sit on when I wanted to read at night or watch the tv. I slept like a log here though and it was a very comfortable sleep. The shower took a while to heat up and came very hot when the hot water came through, I'd advise letting it run instead of jumping straight in until you get the perfect temperature. I would happily stay here again and will recommend the hotel to anyone who's booked it.

Pretty good stay in Gothic Quarter
The room was serviceable with a nice balcony. It's probably better as a couple or group - the stairway to the rooms was pitch black at all times so I downloaded a flashlight app to go through it. It's definitely better than the sister hotel Don Rey Jaime.

Staff rude, insisting i had booked 2 rooms when email confirmation stated 3. When we finally got checked in we were shown across the road to an unused building up dark stairs to our rooms. Rooms basic, TVs with no remote, limited towels, no hairdryers and noisy with building work. Would never return and never recommend.

The hotel has only one Hairdryer
I borrowed a hairdryer from the hotel. Since the hotel owns only one hairdryer, I could not keep it during my stay. Once I returned, someone else borrowed it, so I could not use it at the last day, which was very inconvenient.

Lovely trip
Had a great week in Barcelona and felt very comfortable at this hotel. In the center of Barcelona closely located to so many atractions such as the Barcelona cathederal. Nice walk to the port and the beaches. The only issue was that there is no real reception for this hotel because it is on the second floor of a building. It is affiliated with the hotel across so that is where you check in and then you cross the street. I wish that I knew about this before I came because at night, after getting off of a plane I don't want to hunt for my hotel. But aside from the little hiccup, our stay was perfect.

Unexpected delight
The checkin office was across the street so it was confusing when we wanted to get a taxi as to which place to go to. Our gps said it was 30 km away. Good thing we decided to go to the other address. It should be communicated differently on Expedia. The scary entrance to actual hotel was dark and gloomy but opened up into awesome suite. We were glad to be there. Just had to get used to Spanish ways. But excellent location excellent staff and pretty good room. We enjoyed it. I'd stay there again. I felt like a local.

Small but clean room, good shower, great location
Very basic and small room with two individual beds. The beds were comfortable, the room and bathroom clean and the shower worked very well. I don't think much more could be asked for the type of establishment and the price. Excellent location
