The hotel was really nice - fun design, very clean and had all the facilities that I needed. The room was quite small but comfortable and the staff were lovely - they always said good morning and good evening to me when I passed the reception desk. I liked that there was complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits on each floor that was a nice touch. Having the restaurant connected to the hotel (it feels like the same venue but apparently it isn't) was really convenient and the breakfast was nice - a bit sparse compared to other places I've stayed but enough for what I needed and is very photogenic. I was very happy with the general location of the hotel - it's just a few seconds walk to the Jaume I metro stop and about 10 mins walk to the Liceu stop which was very convenient for everywhere I needed to go. The biggest problem for me was how noisy it was. I was on the 4th floor and thought that I'd be insulated from most loud noise but I was wrong. I could hear lots of noise from both inside and outside the hotel (the narrow streets act like an amplifier!) and I had to sleep with earplugs in every night even though I'm usually a deep sleeper. I didn't mind the higher price because of the great location, but the noise would make me hesitant about staying there again; everything else was great.

Brilliant location in the heart of the El Born area. Metro at the end of the road. Loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Very handy to walk to the port, beach or La Rambla area. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Bar/restaurant attached to hotel was great for a drink or two at the end of a long day walking! Had 1 meal in the restaurant which was very good. Coffee machine, water, biscuits, sweets on every floor was a bonus. Only downside of the location is that it can be busy and therefore noisy. Be careful not to hang towels on the taps that look like hooks at the end of the shower, we managed to turn off the hot water!! I would definitely stay here again due to the location and friendly atmosphere!

This is a decent hotel with an excellent location. The rooms are small. You can hear lots of noise both from the street (which is expected) but also from the hallways (which is unfortunate). The staff was pleasant and was able to get us into our room 1 hour before check-in but also was unable or unwilling to procure us a cab on the morning of our departure and sent us walking 3 blocks with our bags to look for one. The decor is ok and funky but also sort of random. There was a nespresso machine on the floor, not in the room. When they clean daily they just make the bed and change the towels, nothing else. The shower head was loose and kept pushing forward and actually fell off one time and hit me. In the US that would be a lawsuit but in BCN it was just whatever. The final morning the cold water did not work, which was odd. When we told the front desk they said we must have done something to turn it off, which we didn't, so that was also odd. Also the TV didn't really work - it only got 3 channels but they weren't watchable, it was like the three govt national channels, this would have been a major bummer if we planned to watch a lot of tv, but we didn't so it was just mildly inconvenient. Also there's no phone to call the desk to complain about these things, well there was an outlet for a phone, but there was no phone in the room. Overall, a good price but there might be a better option nearby.

Axel at your front desk is your absolute greatest asset!!! He was so wonderful and helpful and professional!! I just can’t say enough about Axel!! The hotel bed was very comfortable and there was ample closet space w/2 closets!! The bathroom had ample counter space and great shower pressure, but you do need to bring your own bar soap and wash cloth. The hotel is SO dark that I couldn’t see to put on my makeup in the mornings. The overall darkness gave it quite a dreary feeling. The floors in the shower were extremely slippery so we laid a hand towel on the floor so we wouldn’t fall. Every night there was a tremendous amount of noise right below our room (#101) from the restaurant/bar and also outside. We did enjoy our stay there and everyone at the front desk was absolutely wonderful and very great customer service. The location was superb and we were able to walk to the beach, all the dining and many of the local attractions. The supermarket was 2 doors down. We absolutely LOVED Barcelona!!! Gorgeous city!! Thank you again, Axel!!!!!

We stayed for a few nights in January, staff were lovely and the hotel design is lovely and chic. The hotel is very darkly lit but has a nice atmosphere and feel. The room seemed to be an accessible room so was nice and big but it was so loud! The centre of the hotel is a bust restaurant you can hear all the goings on, eating and talking all night. Worse yet the noise from the alleys outside woke us up several times a night. Shouting, banging, clattering and disposing of glass. Not great if you’re a light sleeper but a lovely hotel otherwise. The location is perfect for exploring the most popular areas of Barcelona.

The hotel in funk & non-conventional. It is located on a walkway, so the taxi can only take you so far, then you walk about 50 yards. The rooms are small (about 15' x 15'), but cozy. Reminded me of a dorm room. There is an open stairwell that drives all the noise in the restaurant below and any one who is drunk right up the whole house. I was awaken at 2am by two people cackling really loud like they were on something. The noise outside, too, can keep you awake as the street cleaners drive their vehicles at 3am and restaurants push their trash dumpsters across the cobble walks. Lots of noise, so bring earplugs! Still, the staff were very nice and helpful. There was a very popular restaurant on the first floor with an excellent bartender. You are a surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars and a short walk to the Cathedral. There were many Christmas fairs going on as well as many street performers singing classic & operatic tunes. It really added to the atmosphere.

I had a good night's sleep in the hotel's bed. It may feel a bit noisy, depending on what is happening outside, but it did not bother me at all. The bathroom was spacious, with good towels. A lovely lady was serving breakfast and although the choice was not wide, I was able to eat something and enjoy nice coffee.

Disappointing rooms
The hotel is located in a great location right next to Jaume 1 station. However, cars cannot go down the road, so you must be dropped off at the very busy main road and walk a few minutes to the hotel. Given its location, it does mean you can hear people enjoying Barcelona until the early morning. The staff at the hotel are friendly and very helpful. However, the quality of the rooms is disappointing. The pillows are uncomfortable, the rooms are not very well-lit, and the bathroom is not spacious. Luckily, the water pressure is good, and the water is hot! I would return to Barcelona but not the hotel.

I was unable to get any proper rest during my stay at Habana house. The rooms are not equipped to drown out the noise from the busy street at night. Not many amenities available, even the tv was limited on channels. Pretty out of date compared to many other hotels in the same price range.

The hotel is centrally located and check in was easy. The bed was very comfortable and there was ample space to hang clothes. Unfortunately the rooms and public passage ways are just too dark (the stairs are actually unsafe they are so poorly lit; I almost fell twice). I could apply my make up in our room, I had to use the extra by the restaurant just to have decent ish lighting. Beds are turned done but my water glass (which had a shimmer of my lip gloss on it for the whole 5 days) was not changed once. It felt very basic for the price.

For the amount of money I paid for the room ( $600 per night) it was very disappointing to see that they had pushed two single beds together to make a standard size bed. No views from the room. Really underwhelming considering I had stayed at some other places in Barca that I paid less than that and had much a much better room. Luckily the location was good and the staff was very helpful. Otherwise don't pay more than $200 a night for this place.

We liked this hotel it is very very unique . Check in was a nightmare .. when they say it’s at 3:00pm they mean it! They did make up for the wait with balloons in our room for my husbands birthday and a note wishing him one. Love the gothic quarter in Barcelona it has so much to do .. and eat! If you are looking for A QUIET STAY THIS IS NOT YOUR HOTEL. It’s an amazing hotel but QUIET IT IS NOT. Trash trucks and Street sweepers everynight around midnight and people yelling in your ally until 4am

This was a perfect hotel to stay at in the El Born neighborhood of Barcelona. It’s right in the middle of tons of great restaurants, cafes, & bars. It’s extremely walkable and close to the Gothic Quarter and a wonderfully convenient hotel to stay at. We really enjoyed our stay here and would absolutely recommend this hotel for its location, friendly staff, and comfortable accommodations for the price.
