“Really nice ,I would stay there again”

The room was part of an apartment ,located on the second floor of 4-5 story biding in the Gothic area of Barcelona. We had a fully equipped kitchen - convenient if you planning to prepare your food there.We only had coffee there in the morning. The room and bathrooms were clean . The lady that met us was nice and friendly and gave us some useful tips how to get around the city. The location is great .I had feeling that I was at some friends apartment that left for the weekend,really authentic experience.

“Three minor problems - two major mitigations”

The minor technical problem was the failure of the WiFi router on Tuesday night and the fact that it remained out of action for the remainder of our stay, despite several reminders. This was an important issue for me because I needed to stay in email contact with my students via evening correspondence sessions. One shared accommodation problem was that one of the other guests became ill during one night and vomited all down the corridor and all over the bathroom floor. They made a reasonable effort to clean it up before departing early next morning, leaving the maids to make an excellent job of restoring the previous immaculate standard of cleanliness. The other shared accommodation problem was the very loud level of conversation carried on in the early hours of the morning by some of the younger guests. In mitigation of all this I should add that this period included an major international soccer match (Barcelona/Milan) and a national strike! I should also point out of course that the two shared accommodation problems were not the responsibility of the hotel and, in fact, the excellent response of the maids should count very much in their favour.

“Not what it is advertised”

It says it has TV, it says it has internet, it said it had private bathroom. None of these are true. However, the manager is a great guy and helped us out to discover the good places around, but the apartment is NOT WHAT IT IS ADVERTISED and we hated that.
