“A little far from the action but really worth the trouble”
I've stayed here a few times. For the price, it's a really good place to stay. The rooms are HUGE and comfortable. I rate this as a solid 4 star hotel with plenty of ameneties. The main drawback is that the hotel is pretty far from Sukhumvit. It's really too far to walk in the heat of BKK. But there's a simple answer. There are motorbike taxi's at the intersection of Sukhumvit and in fron tof the hotel. For 20 baht ($.70), they turn a 10-15 minute walk into a 1 minute motorbike ride and drop you at the BTS station. I guess motorbike taxi's aren't for everyone but they are a different experience. For me, it's worth it to have to take the motorbikes. While the hotel is not that close to Sukhumvit, that is actually an advantage. Sukhumvit can be pretty dirty and nasty but the hotel is in a very nice area surrounded by very upscale condos.
“Davis hotel”
Staff friendly. Small issue with door lock was rectified and new room was provided. Will return to this hotel in the future.
“Awesome!! rooms - Terrible Food”
We love The Davis, and have stayed there a few times. The rooms are great. Love the Thai style of the Main Wing. Can't say enough good about the rooms. However, as good as the rooms are, the food is terrible. We only ate in the restaurant once, but it was a complete disappointment, and the bill added insult to injury because it was so overpriced. We have two children, so the two bedroom suite was perfect. Very spacious, bedrooms, living room and bathrooms. Top quality, top notch. Stay at this hotel, for sure, but don't eat at their restaurant. There are plenty of other restaurants close by, within walking or tuk tuk distance.
“The Good Deal”
Thank You Expedia for providing such a wonderful Hotel at a very affordable price. The good thing about The Bangkok Davis was that all my business friends came to see me at the Hotel without any problem. Plus, the closeness with the train stataion made my travel easier. Very Spacious rooms and well built lobby. I Enjoyed my stay there.
“it's the place to be in Thailand”
Hotel was amazing... whenever i go to bangkok i stay there and have never been treated poorly... it is the place to stay in thailand. :)
“Davis Hotel”
Front desk staff english skills are not perfect, but the service is excellent.
“Davis Hotel Bangkok”
Charming medium sized "boutique" hotel located near very good shopping and a few good restaurants. A bit of a drive "downtown" but it was great for the three nights were there (Jan 2011). Very clean and well run. Note: you can walk in this neighborhood but like most of Bangkok the sidewalks, when present are not great!
“Extremely good hotel for the money!”
We booked a suite, and for the money, this seemed more like a 5 star hotel. I liked the quiet understated classiness of this hotel. The docor was modern without being "trendy," while the rooms were very well equiped with amenities and comfort. We were treated with courtesy and good service. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone, and will definetly stay there on my next trip to Bangkok. GED
“Davis Bangkok”
The hotel staff were very friendly and as an added bonus there was a Starbucks in the lobby. I was not so impressed with my room when I walked in. It definitely was not as nice as the photos online. I am pretty sure the other rooms, especially the ones in the back of the hotel are much nicer.
“A "Five Star" Gem”
The Davis is equivalent to a five star hotel anywhere. The rooms are large and beautifully apponted, I stayed in two different ones, and the service is outstanding. It also has a very nice pool area and the Spa rates were surprisingly affordable. While breakfast and internet were not included in the rate both were reasonably priced, and breakfast was very good. The street it's on is actually nice and upscale, there are restaurants, shops and banks within a short walk. The only drawback is that the BTS station is about a mile away, so it takes a good 12-15 minute walk. The hotel offers a tuk-tuk shuttle but only at set times, so you need to reserve a seat. On the other hand you can always take a taxi to the BTS, they are plentiful and not expensive. All in all this is probably one of the best hotels in Bangkok, and I have stayed in many. I highly recommend it.
