Ms Bee has a lot of good hints which help you save money. The hostel is perfectly located next to the skytrain and metro station. The hostel is good value for the money.

I stayd at Smile Society for 9 nights during a stay in Bangkok. The locatios ieasy to find, being a short 5 minute walk from Sala Daeng BTS station, which is easy to reach from BKK. I was staying in an 8-bed room and the bed was large for a dorm and very comfortable. The bedding was spotless and the room was tidied and cleaned on a daily basis. I requested a bottom bunk and this was provided. Even though the room wasn’t massive, there was plenty of storage room as each bed has a large locker. The shared bathroom is right next door and has two toilet stalls, two secluded urinals and two shower stalls, as well as a large sink. Shampoo and liquid soap are provided. The AC in the room is a godsend after a day sightseeing or upon arriving in Bangkok! The hostel has a communal area with a dining table and chairs, as well as a comfy lounge area with settees. There are a couple of computers in case you didn’t bring a laptop/tablet/mobile and you can help yourself to hot drinks and biscuits whenever you like. There are soft drinks and beers in a mini-fridge to buy, but the price is very reasonable. The hostel is mere metres away from a 7-eleven (several in fact), a McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, etc as well as several places to buy street food, day or night. There are also places for massage and numerous cafes, bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Several bus lines pass within metres of the hostel, but I was never brave enough to try them out! Great owner. Super nice. Some mold on the shower curtain would be the only thing that was a negative. Looking forward to staying again. Kinda far from the airports, but easy to get to a BTS station.

The environment is generally neat and the host is very helpful and respectful. However, the common areas are quite clustered with junks and response to complaint is quite slow. For instance, I complained about my broken reading light bulb, this never got fixed through out my 4 day stay at the hostel.

Ms. Bee and Ms. Nid were excellent hosts and were very helpful with recommendations and how to travel quicker and cheaper around Bangkok. This hostel is located in a great area of Silom and is a short 5 minute walk to the sky train that takes you all around Bangkok and to the airport. We stayed in a private room which was comfortable, quite, clean, and came with a private shower and bathroom. Breakfast was cooked every morning and it was a great atmosphere. Affordable Hotel Rate
The owner is very accomodating. The place was clean and quiet. It is accessible to Silom Rd and BTS. About 10 mins walk to Patpong Market and fastfood chains. The hotel rate is very affordable.

It not a place to bring kids there while most families with kids will go to bed quite early. Whilst our hostel located in Silom Road, Silom Alley No. 6. We are in central of Bangkok as business district area. We have many families with kids stayed with us and they kept returning to stay here because of safe place, cleanliness, central located, friendly staff, etc. They also recommended us to their friends and other families. This hostel is cool, clean and laid back. Bea, who runs the place, is very helpful and will give you good recommendations and advice on how to get different places for cheap. Laundry service is very affordable as well.

All parties (Expedia/LastMinute and us) tried to contact you several times since booking via calling, message box, email, etc but you didn't respond. You didn't show up or come to stay here and you were charged for No Show. It is pity that Expedia and us had tried several times to contact you to help you solve this wrong booking but there was silent. Messages were read but no party got any of your reply. We are sorry that your review was bias and stated everything wrong, untruth information and irrelevant content. Silom Road is clean big road and with convenient and efficient transportation hub. We stayed in a deluxe double. The bed was comfortable but squeaky when one of us moved. There was a wide window ledge large enough to open both our bags on. The shower was enclosed with a curtain and water was quickly warm and easy to control the temperature. Our room was cleaned daily with 2 bottles of water daily. Breakfast was a fried egg, toast, muffin, lettuce, bacon, sausage, juice, and hot drink. I requested gluten-free food and they were more than willing to accommodate this. I received rice, or pad thai, or veggies instead of toast. The location is great for walking. It is close to the train, subway, and bus to the airport. We went out for Street food at night, but enjoyed the quiet tucked back off a main road location when sleeping. It was 75 TB for a taxi from Khao San Road, or the muey thai stadium.

Very disappointing
My flight arrived in Bangkok at 10pm. I had forwarded flight details to the hostel as requested & they gave me the option of self registering ( they would leave a key at the front door) or they could go back to be their when I checked in. I chose to have a person there. Upon arrival, 2 female staff were there. After I gave them my passport, the older lady told me they didn’t usually accept people over 45 yrs. She said the only room they had available was on the 4th floor and the staircase was quite steep- not suitable at all for a senior. She told me to cancel the reservation with Expedia- said she couldn’t do anything at the time because it was so late; they were closed and she had already had to stay late for me to arrive. She directed me out the door, wheeling my bag to a hotel down the road. I was outside looking for accommodation at 11:30pm in downtown Bangkok! I had booked & stayed at 2 or 3 other lovely hostels through Expedia - all great experiences. All were higher end hostels, which I thought this was as well. I had no idea there was an age restriction, but then that wasn’t noted on the Expedia website - only that it was a boutique hostel. I realize that I was a late arrival which was obviously annoying for the staff, but being kicked out so late at night was shocking ! The hostel is located down an alleyway with a couple massage parlours, a bar / cafe & this other small boutique hotel. Positive outcome - the FAH Hotel is a true gem - highly recommend!

More than you think
The owner was amazing, changed are room even when the web site got it wrong. Very helpful in guiding us to anything we wanted to see. Just remember that this is a hostel but it felt like a hotel, Wifi was good, location was excellent close to subway & Skytrain.

Cosy and convenient Hostel
When I first booked through Expedia, the confirmation indicated shared bathroom which posed an issue for me and my family (3 of us traveling). Sent an email to Smile requesting an upgrade to an ensuite for 3 with private bathroom. Received a very prompt reply confirming the upgrade. This is my first stay at a hostel. The room and facilities were clean and excellent. Miss Bee, the manager and her staff made our stay really really comfortable. Bee helped us with guidance on places we wanted to visit and helped booked Grab for outskirts places. Smile is very conveniently located in Silom district with easy access to sky train, metro, etc. Staying at Smile Society Boutique Hostel made us very welcome and our experience in Bangkok very memorable. I would definitely stay there again in future trips and have no qualms recommending them to my family and friends visiting Bangkok. Thanks very much, Bee.

Host was very friendly and willing to give tips on where to go in Bangkok. Breakfast was good and freshly prepared. However, private ensuite room for 3 was a little small. Overall, stay was good. Location about 8-10 mins walk to BTS station and a little further down to Silom MRT.

Smile Society Hostel creates impressive smiles!
Smile Society hostel is centrally located to access several interesting places. The staff reflect the name "Smile" they are full of smiles and very helpful in giving information about how to get around Bangkok. The hostel is spotlessly clean! Its cleanness surpasses that of normal hotels.

I've been traveling through Laos and Thailand for the last week. This is the best hostel I've stayed in! It's well-maintained and clean, and run by this hardworking and really friendly lady. She's extremely helpful and motherly and her personality infects the hostel. Location is great also: walkable to a BTS and MRT station. And also right beside a hospital in case of anything (I had a fractured foot, so this was really helpful). Company is also really nice! It's been great chilling and hanging out with fellow travelers from the hostel. I feel like it's easier to make friends with fellow travelers in this hostel, than the other ones I've been in.

Simply the Best (Stayed Multiple Visits)
By the end of my time in Thailand I'll have stayed at Smile Society four times, so without hesitation I recommend it! :) It is labeled as a youth hostel, but I stayed in a private room and it was sanctuary from the busy streets of Bangkok! Strong AC (the best I had in all of Southeast Asia), a comfy bed, quiet, convenient location and the best service. From what I saw and what I experienced, Ms. Bee went out of her way to make sure people were happy. She gave me awesome insider tips of adventures to take in/out of Bangkok, she organized tours of me, and she even packed breakfast for me when I left early for a tour! One added bonus I wasn't expecting is that that all she let me leave my bag at the hostel between trips for a small fee. This was super handy since I had purchased a bunch of stuff in Thailand and Lao, and allowed me to save money on extra baggage fees as well as save my back from lugging it all around. Overall 5 stars in service, much more of a personal touch than a traditional youth hostel, so in my opinion that's what sets it apart from the competition. Thank you again for the hospitality!

Quiet location in heart of Silom
Kha was nice and very helpful with directions and ordering taxis. The room and bathrooms are kept clean (western toilets!!). The security is very good- multiple doors to unlock to get to living space and rooms. Also get a locker to store your belongings during the day.

Great hostel with amazing manager
We stayed here for 2 nights as a brief stopover in Bangkok. Don't be put off by the slightly dated decor. The place was great, located near transport and good food and nightlife. However the highlight is the manager. She went above and beyond to make our stay excellent including getting up at 5 in the morning to make sure we had a packed breakfast and taxi to get to the station. If you want excellent service and personal attention stay here.

I've been to Thailand 4 times now and I've stayed at Smile Society twice. I stayed in a standard triple and a regular double and both were excellent, good wifi in the rooms and the tv's have like 300+ channels (including like 10 movie channels). The lounge area is great, with cheap drinks and lots of seats to have a chat with others. The best part though is the service. The first time I was there the owner helped me catch a cab to the airport, and ended up flagging down 3 taxi's and negotiating with each until she has happy with the driver. She also gives great recommendations for tours and massage parlours (as there are a few). Great knowledge of tourist attractions and directions if you want to go your own way instead of a tour. Finally to top it off the breakfast is 8:30 - 10:30 which is great for me, but I had to catch an early plane so I had to leave at 7:00am. Upon speaking to the owner the night before she organised for a packed breakfast to go for my morning flight. I was so thankful when I barely made the plane due to sleeping in, but had some food to eat in the taxi. All in all very good for a hostel, but more like a sociable hotel.

Hotel was super friendly and we loved the breakfast in the am. We had an issue with our key card and they provided us with a new one right away! Also very knowledgable about the area, we were shown on a map place by place on how to get there and we never got lost. I would stay here again!
