“A quiet hide away”

This is a small boutique type hotel, very clean and off the hustle and bustle and noise of the normal tourist haunts. Ideal for a family with small kids or someone after a quiet place to just relax .

“Would go back”

Wifi only worked good in hotel lobby. Had to use hotel room key for elec. power in room so AC was turned off when we left. Hotel staff finally straightened this out by allowing a 2nd key to be left in power disconnect when we left for the day. Hotel resturant served reasonbly priced good food and the tuk tuk taxi service to the sky train was free, friendly and quick. Never figured out how to get the ride back, but it was only a 3 block walk. Hotel setting is in a quiet neighborhood but not very far from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

Area recommendations

The food vendors (many), open air markets, shrines and temples, Grand Palace, ride the Sky Train just about any place in the city you want to go.

“Quaint hotel and surprisingly quiet location”

Although not situated in the most convenient location, the Salil benefits from quiet surroundings. Great for a good nights sleep. Rooms are very clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. I've stayed at both Salil hotels in Bangkok, the other is on Sukumvit 8, and this is the nicest of the two. I'd stay there again without hesitation.

“Average”

The location of the hotel is set hidden from the main street of Sukhumvit and is located in a small neighborhood, so getting to and from there is a little bit of a drag. Upon arrival, there were major renovation as they were putting in a pool. The entrance to the hotel was somewhat of an eye soar because there were so much construction going on. The rooms are small, but well decor. The staff are nice and friendly, so no complaints in that area. Overall, the stay was okay, its just the lack of convenience of coming back and getting to the hotelthat I would not recommend staying here, otherwise its not a bad place to stay.

Area recommendations

Anywhere off of Sukhumvit or Silom where transportation can be easily found, such as the BTS, MRT, Taxi.

“Great hotel in Thong Lo, Sukhumvit, Grung Thehp”

Excellent hotel, very accomodating and helpful staff, and very quiet despite the extension of the hotel next door. Never heard construction work once in 6 days but we were also never in the hotel before 4 pm on any day. Very centrally located in the Thong Lo area of Sukhumvit , a very trendy and upscale area with cool restaurants, art galleries, and design spaces. This is a great example of a moderately priced yet high quality hotel. Simple yet tasteful design, great breakfast cafe catering to all tastes (tired Western, Thai, etc.), although he best food is still on the streets. Learn a few words in Thai and you'll get that much further.

Sukhumvit for the reasons listed above.

Best and cheapest food is on the streets, just choose your vendor (Kon Khai) carefully, every dish can be customized. Excllent italian restaurant in Thong Lo as well: Becca or Bacco/a(?)

“Hidden Gem”

If you too are creeped out by the excesses of Nana, this little hotel is off the beaten path (in a GOOD way), yet just a short 60 Bhat taxi ride away (or skytrain) from the action. Hotel is brand new, and they are expanding next door (so be prepared for construction noise at 9am). Front staff are largely inept but extremely polite and helpful, and the cafe is charming. Great for people who like a bit of quite now and then when in the madness that is Bangkok. It is in a neighborhood (Thonglor) inhabited by Japanese expats and the local restaurants cater to that demographic, so good food options abound. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

“Not Impressed, Noisy”

Room inside is nice & clean, The hotel did not disclose when booking that it is expanding and under construction! It is surronded by construction projecct. The construction starts every morning at 6am !! Extremely Noisy! The construction seems to have months if not year to go. None of the doors seemed measured properly, Every room's door seems difficult to shut, so you can hear other rooms slam the door at night. Breakfast is below average. Poor internet service, keep kick you out of the service, must re-login after a while.

“nice and quiet”

A bit further from the CBD than I expected but still convenient via the skytrain. Rooms are very small but very bright and comfortable and the location means it's quiet. Staff was great with directions, assistance, travel planning help. Food was so-so but convenient and quite inexpensive. I will stay there again in the future.
