Very old and tired hotel. Half the lifts out of order, leading to absolutely packed elevator rides. bathrooms very dated indeed, with stained ceilings and water dripping through two ceilings. Totally over priced just due to location over new year.
For some reason reception demanded a deposit for the room in cash. I had to refuse twice before he finally accepted he could do it on a card. Meanwhile my friend checked in and didn’t need a deposit at all. Something a bit Fishy.
New Year’s party was an organisational disaster. We bought tickets, then got kicked off a table and given a new one. Not treated respectfully at all. Drinks took 30 minutes to get to us! Total mess, nobody had any idea what was going on. Music was terrible, with 2 parties in the same hotel competing for the loudest music. Ticket clearly states that it includes “free flow soft drinks” but they are only serving 3 drinks in total to each person; not even allowing water!
Overall: clearly not a five star hotel in the slightest. Needs an overhaul, and customer service needs an upgrade too. Disappointing, and not worth the money paid.
