“Convenience in Bangkok”
The Asia Hotel is really well located, easy (and cheap) to get from the airport to the hotel using the sky train, and walking distance to lots of the main shopping areas. The staff were lovely, the rooms nice and spacious and the pools were really nice particularly the roof top one at night with the view of the city. As far as hotels go this one was certainly value for money.
“Wonderful Hotel”
There is everything right with this hotel and nothing wrong. Perfect location.......~7 minute walk to MBK. Staff is great. Rooms are perfect. Beds. frig, bathrooms are great. I can think of NO reason to complain or say anything is substandard.......in fact......just the opposite. Skytrain is next to lobby. 7/11 right next door. I will return here and encourage you to stay here as well. Very very pleased with my discovery of this hotel.
“Great location and customer service!”
Asia Hotel is close to shopping area. It's near MBK, Siam Paragon and also the BTS Skytrain. I've stayed at this hotel many times and I will stay there again many times in the future. The hotel is very clean, the staff are very friendly, and the nearby shopping is fantastic!
“Good Bangkok Hotel at a very convenient location”
I usually stay at this hotel when in Bangkok. A big advantage is its location right on the SkyTrain line, with direct access from the first floor (next floor above the ground floor) of the hotel. As with many hotels, the showers are a little difficult to regulate for temperature, but this is a minor inconvenience. Late checkout (until 1500, generally) is available on request, which is often handy for airline schedules. The hotel has friendly, polite staff. It's only one StyTrain stop from Siam station, which is good for shopping. Just down Phaya Thai road between the Hotel and Siam station is a klong (canal) with boats that take one very close to the Golden Mount. Internet in the hotel is not cheap, but there are internet businesses just down the road, close to the klong.
“Cockroaches and incompetence.”
When we arrived to the hotel to check in the front desk could not find our information. We had already booked and payed for our room online. They then told us they needed the booking number from expedia from the internet. The wanted us to pay 200 baht (about 7 dollars) to use the internet to do this as they could not find any of our information with our name or credit card used. After we got that settled they put us in our room. We requested a large queen bed for my husband and I. We walked into the room to find two twin beds pushed together! my husband went down to let them know that accomadation would not work. They told us they had nothing for us, even though we were under the impression we would be getting a queen. They pushed to put us in a room that was a smoking room. After my husband threated to cancel our reservation a room magically appeared. That night a cockroach was found scurrying across our bed. There was an infestation of some kind of insect and we were on the 7th floor!! God only knows what could be found on the first floors. Location was okay, and connected to the railway but overall the place is a no go! don't do it!
“Cheap, but might be worth to upgrade if you are staying longer than a few days”
Clean, but really poor service. Nice pool. Restaurants are a rip-off. Great street food nearby.
“Bangkok”
Hotel was chosen for its great location - tram ride from airport and located next to shopping district.
“Asia Hotel”
I have been staying in this hotel for many years now and recommend for the location. The hotel has undergone a room renovation as many upmarket hotels are nearby and more being built. The hotel is 1 stop on the sky train to the Airport Train - however the stations are built with mainly stairs. The hotel breakfast was cold or luke warm on some mornings and the food variety is limited. No bacon either when we were there this trip. Staff on front desk can on occasion be rude esp when they are busy. I have come accross this a few times and wish they would employ more english speaking staff to help combat these problems.
“Fantastic hotel”
Fantastic hotel - can recommend it to anyone, even my maiden aunt - did not see anything to offend in the vicinity. Perfect for getting around - Skytrain station entrance on 2nd floor - hotel provided one free day-ticket for each person. 10 minute walk, or one train stop to major department stores. Short walk to canal boat, or just a few train stops to the river for access to the Royal Palace, Wat Pho and Chinatown. Buffet breakfast was delicious, and we loved the Elvis impersonator in the evening (had a lot of fun singing and dancing with him and other guests).
“Good hotel for a quick stopover , comfortable and close to everything!”
We stayed there for few days in mid December 2010. It is extremely close to major shopping centres like MBK and Siam Paragon( about 7 min walking ) so we didint have to catch any tuk tuks and it was exactly what we wanted. On the presentation the rooms are super for the money paid , were newly renovated and very clean. Outside of the hotel is average , but service was quick and pleasant , so we will definately recomend this hotel for those who want to be in the centre and for a good price, its a good value for money! Breakfast was included , but was very average and you better get up early to get in otherwise have to be in quie to get in. Overall , we are very pleased and will definetely use this hotel for another time for a quick stopover!
