“Beautiful hotel ... fantastic staff”
The location is fantastic, a little out of the main city which has it's good points and not so good ones. The hotel has a regular shuttle-bus which is incredibly convenient for going out and about. You may still have to use one of the Florence Taxis - they usually get to you very swiftly. We found the hotel very clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly - they work incredibly hard and we felt that nothing was too much trouble - whether that was organising transport or booking restaurants etc. We had a lovely time in Florence but it was always nice to return to somewhere that was warm and felt welcoming after each day sight-seeing and exploring. The only bit of advice I would say is this. If you are staying in Florence on New Years Eve then it would be advisable to book a room in the centre of Florence for New Years Eve night. The reason for this is that buses and taxis are not allowed in the centre on that night and getting anywhere after 12 is a pain. It was only because the hotel managed to speak directly to a taxi service that we didn't end up getting totally stranded at 1.30 in the morning. I very rarely find myself being able to say this but this is definitely a hotel I would want to come back to. Thank you to the staff at Villa Olmi for making our holiday so enjoyable.
“Good hotel outside the city!”
You must have a car. Shuttle was only twice a day 10 am and 5 pm. Staff is excellent. Buffet is superb. The mattress are like sleeping on a cement block ! Also, the walls are paper thin. We moved in the middle of the night because the couple next door started to make love at 2am and we could hear everything. The flooring is tiles- we could hear next room walking. I would not recommend staying on bottom floor. The decor is very nice and the rooms are spacious. I still give it 5 star- but - will stay there only in low season and if you have a car rental. There is bus stop - 5 min walk from the hotel -Bus 23A. it takes 20 min to get to town because of many stops.
“what a wonderful experience! Highly recommendable”
beautiful hotel, great staff, amazing value for money. A real 5* experience for a 4* price
“Great place to stay, especially if you have a car!”
This place was gorgeous, comfortable and perfect for what we were looking for- somthing upscale and affordable not right in Florence. You have everything you could want here and the gardens and surrondings are beautiful. Fantastic breakfast and helpful staff. The only issue we had the whole time was our room was fairly hot and we couldn't control the heat, however, when we asked the staff to turn it down they did. I would stay here again for sure!
“Florence March vacation”
An upscale hotel with excellent service and spacious clean rooms well decorated. The hotel is located within 10 minutes drive from the old city but in a suburban type of neighborhood. Plenty of free parking space available. Don't drive to Florence's center. It is a nightmare. Take the shuttle form the hotel. For some reason the shuttle does not run in the evening and that is the only minus point in my review. However, you could take a taxi. There are excellent restaurants available in the area of the hotel but they are hidden. Ask the hotel reception for restaurant recommendations and directions. We were upgraded to a garden room, which had its own private garden and that was thanks to Expedia. Eating at the hotel's restaurant can be very expensive (over 100 euros for two) and the amount of food can be small. Avoid that if you can. Breakfast was included and it was excellent and with many varieties of food available. I will definitely come back to this hotel when I come back to Florence.
“Excellent 5-star resort, right outside Florence”
My wife and I stayed in the Villa Olmi Resort for four nights during out visit to Tuscany. The hotel is in a perfect location, right outside Florence, off the A-1 highway. It's only a few minutes drive to get into the city, and in a convenient location to reach other Tuscany destinations. Our room had a balcony with a great view of the surrounding hills. Breakfast was served right outside the hotel lobby, in a large courtyard by the hotel pool. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. They recommended some local restaurants, and helped us make reservations in Italian. Just a few minutes from the hotel there is a commercial center with a Co-op grocery store, an bank, and some great restaurants. It was a great choice. We would definitely recommend it!
“Villa Olmi Resort, Florence”
Stunning hotel for those who love quality of a mix between the old and the new. A haven for those who are looking for a romantic, quiet getaway. this hotel is on the outskirts of Florence, so access to the city centre is via a hotel shuttle, available morning and late afternoon. Overall the hotel was an excellent choice. Constructive feedback on this hotel would be to provide a more extensive shuttle service for those who wish to return to the hotel mid-afternoon and also to give greater TLC to the surrounding gardens which in June should be in full bloom.
“I would go again without any doubt”
We enjoyed very much staying in Villa Olmi because the hotel was veery nice. It was like being at a friend¨s house and not a hotel and all the villages surrounding Villa Olmi were only a few minutes by car. Siena San Gimminiano, Volterra Lucca, Pisa and many others.
“I would definitely stay here again”
A 5 star hotel that for once really is a 5 star hotel experience. Comfortable bedrooms, peace and quiet, very close proximity to Florence for taxis and driving but easy access to autoroute to explore Tuscant easily. Breakfast buffet substantial and the pool was lovely. Make sure you book on to the free shuttle to Florence otherwise you might not get on. There are a couple of good restaurants very close to the hotel so easy to drive or walk to and easier on teh pocket than the hotel restaurant
“We would love to go back to this hotel!”
My husband and I loved this hotel so much that we extended our stay. The minute you arrive, the staff treats you as if you are the most important person in the world. The grounds are beautiful and our room was very nice. We wish they had a fitness center especially after having their great dinners and buffet breakfast! We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a luxury hotel that is just close enough and far enough from the all of the shops and historical sites in Florence.
