“Start your trip off right”
After getting off a 17 hr flight, we went straight to the Langham for a massage and to do nothing for the day. We booked our simultaneous treatments at Chuan Spa 5 days before our arrival on a Thurs. I was surprised they were able to accomodate us on what I would think was short notice, but they did and it was wonderful...very relaxing and invigorating. We booked our room on the club floor, which was fabulous. Complimentary; bottle of champagne in our room, pastries, coffee and tea all day in the lounge, cocktails and horderves in the evening, breakfast and extremely responsive and friendly staff. The hotel is generally traditional in decor and feel, but comfortable and up scale. I highly recommend the experience. In fact we had only booked one night and decided to stay two. The only negatives were a lack of signature spa lotions, etc in the changing area after a shower/sauna,swim,steam/treatment and no headphones in the gym. They could change out the water dispenser to glass in the gym as the water tasted like plastic. The room was very quiet and well appointed. WHile the hotel was not in the middle of the shopping district it was a very short cab ride and the hotel also offered a free shuttle. It was to leave the hotel though as it had everything one could possibly need. Great food, drink, gym, spa, service and sleep!
“"Don't expect Hospitality"”
I had booked king rooms at Langham for my trip at Auckland. There were technical issues at the Melbourne Airport and I was unable to board the flight to Auckland. I immidiately informed Expedia. They asked me to contact the hotel directly and make them aware of the circumstances. I sent an email to the hotel informing of the cancellation. Nobody replied to my email. This is last thing u expect from a hospitality business. Then after repeated follow-on emails . They tried to hand-ball the issue to Expedia. Finally after 5-6 emails, they replied saying "Sorry there isn't much we can do"... in short the money's gone down the drain. Once they get your money they don't care to speak to the customers and they are extremely impolite. I have had small motels treat their customers better. They had no regret in charging me a good amount of money for a service not used. If ur expecting hospitality - Good luck!!!
“Good hotel but location not convenient”
Large hotel - 85 rooms per floor but service was good and rooms are nice without being special. Location is a taxi ride or good walk to main part of the city - weather was poor so mostly a cab for us. Rate included breakfast which has 8 stations and plenty of options with attentive service. Overall a good solid hotel especially with the deal on Expedia.
“Friendly First Class Hotel”
I took my 83 year old mom on my trip to New Zealand. I was pleasantly surpised when I arrived at the Langham..we were in "high cotton" and I was able to treat my mom to classy service on a budget. I did upgrade services to the concierge floor but it was well worth it. the Spa facilities at the hotel were wonderful and it didn's cost an extra dime unless you wanted treatments..after use of the outdoor hot tub, indoor suana and steam room with "Ice", I couldn't been more relaxed. All staff at the hotel were helpful, warm, friendly, and very accomodating. I couldn't have asked for more.
“Great hotel in Auckland”
We were very impressed with the quality of the hotel and the great service provided by a nice staff who knows what 'customer service' means. We highly recommend to book a room with lounge access as it gives access to many convenient facilities (drinks/cocktails and nice finger food from 5 - 8pm, complimentary breakfast in the lounge, tea & coffee, access to a computer/printer, etc.). The hotel also has good restaurants, particularly the Italian one ('Barolo'). Excellent Concierge service. We will for sure go back to a Langham hotel!
“Langham Auckland”
We was very disappointed with our stay at the Langham Auckland. The actual hotel was ok--the room was fine and the hotel was well kept. However, the service was horrifying. The concierges (who also seemed to be the bellmen) were not knowledgeable or helpful and information which we needed and rely upon from concierges was not available to us. We wasted so much time and did not enjoy our trip as much because we were stressed and unproductive.
“Lovely warm welcoming”
Staff are fantastically helpful, room was spacious, functional and comfortable. Felt that people there were looking after me and wanted to make my life as simple as possible. Highly recommended!
“old world service and beautifuly decorated”
Restaurant 8 is fantastic, cant wait to go back
“Elegant 5-Star Hotel in Auckland”
Everything about this hotel was outstanding. The service staff was world class - from the Front Desk to the Parking Valets to the Housekeeping Staff. The room was modern, elegant, efficient and comfortable. The bathroom had a beautiful bathtub and separate shower - something I didn't find in other New Zealand Hotels. It was one block from Queen Street, which runs through the heart of downtown down to the waterfront. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Auckland.
“Not bad”
Location ok, bit far from central part of time. Not as modern as i expected
