“The location is good. That's all.”
Overall, the stay itself is not bad because not of the quality of the hotel but of the supplemental factors especially, the location, and the access to transportation because it is really close to a transportation HUB. If I was asked about the hotel by my friends, I would tell them "if your priority concern is a location of the hotel, I will recommend it". Considering the star value I had been told which was 4.5, it was not worth the star value. Since I actually believed the star value before going there and it was a primary determinant of deciding the place of our stay as the hotel, I should not have believed it. First of all, the service level was generally not high. Actually, the attitudes of receptionists and especially information center staffs were not welcome. I did not be able to see any sense of hospitality in them. Some of them seemed even arrogant. We decided not to use the information center immediately after the first use. Secondly, the condition of the hotel facilities and a room we used need mending. Surprisingly, we realized the drain pipe was leaking and there was a puddle underneath its sink. because of it. The toilet seat wobbled because of loose screws; it was really unstable. A door in the room where we stay was paint came off so on. Moreover, the security was a thing of my concern. I noticed some homeless strolling around, thus my family had to walk fast to pass them. However, it was really convenient due to the location.
“Action Packed in the heart of Auckland!”
Sky City is a lovely property full of action to cater everyones need and close to all the action you can find in Auckland. You can literally walk to every where. This hotel has so much on offer in way of well appointed, luxuriously comfortable rooms, world class restaurants, casino, health club, music venue and lovely staff with all smile - what more you can ask for??? I had a small concern about the orange juice that was served on our breakfast that did not tasted like an orange juice, the restaurant manger Meghan immediately addressed the issue and brought back a class of orange juice that tasted like one. Even a small thing like this fixed instantly, we can't wait to go back. We also enjoyed our dinner in the revolving restaurant ORBIT, breakfast in Observatory and dinner & breakfast in Rebo where Meghan is the manager. It was a great fun watching the locals swinging their life away at the Deck enjoying free live music. Man, they have the rhythm running in their vein I must say! We had great three nights at the Sky city and I would certainly recommend to anyone. Thank you Sky City & Expedia!
“Great place to stay, Place was alive everyday which made it enjoyable.”
Great place to stay, Place was alive everyday which made it enjoyable. Will Guarantee to stay again at Sky City. Freindly service, Parking was great and you had many options in Dining out or In. 10/10
“Great location”
We attended a conference at Skycity - this hotel is right there. Would recommend the local French Restaurant two blocks away "Pastis" Victoria St. - great ambiance, and even greater food. Overall we enjoyed staying here.
“Sky city”
Good location, clean and comfort. Lobby is a little bit small, and breakfast is not so good.
“A little above average”
Generally acceptable standard. Broadband access is extremely expensive compared to other hotels in the regions I travel to (mainly Asia where broadband is usually free). The broadband calculation is based on Mb down/uploaded (nobody I know knows how to keep track of this calculation when travelling) so it's very easy to rack up more than expected, especially if passing documents/attachments via e-mail. The hotel provides only shampoo and soap. No toothbrush/paste, comb, showercap nor other necessities you may expect. The business centre consists of a few PCs and a printer in the passageway on the top level. No privacy. Beer bottles, dirty tissues etc. from the previous night's drinkling/e-mail sessions littered the area when I used the service in the morning. Overall, the hotel has room to improve but ok if you just need a bed in central location.
“Go back again to the "Skycity Hotel"”
I recommande travellers to go to this Hotel no far from every thing, shops,gamble,restaurant...
“Sky City Hotel was great!!!”
Had an awesome time...highly reccomended
“Excellent Location! Great value for your money!!”
Skycity Hotel is very centrally located, walking distance to the harbor and other attractions. The room we stayed in was beautiful and comfortable. I would stay here again and would recommend it to other travellors. The staff were helpful. There was no internet availability in the hotel but there was an internet cafe opposite the hotel that offered services at $2 (NZ) for 30 minutes - enough time to check emails.
“Great location, close to everything. Will stay there again.”
Overall the hotel was a great place to stay. Centrally located in downtown Auckland, close to everything, easy to catch a cab to other sections of the Auckland area. Loved the view from the hotel room. Roof top pool pleasant and clean. Plenty of tables and lounge chairs to relax. View of the sky tower impressive. Parking for our rental car reasonably priced. Staff at front desk friendly and helpful on the whole (only one person treated us rudely). Definitely would stay there again!
