FISH – THE NEW Nourish Group restaurant at Hilton Auckland
The finest jewel of the waterfront, FISH is the newest and most exciting restaurant to open and is located on the 1st floor of Hilton Auckland.
With panoramic views across the Waitemata Harbour, FISH features warm timber tones, an outdoor deck with gas fireplace and brings to life a new partnership between the world renowned Hilton brand and the expertise of The Nourish Group.
More exciting than this stunning location is the approach and philosophy of this premium but relaxed new eatery. Under the watchful eye of Simon Gault, Shane Yardley, Simon’s protégé for some 16 years, has created a dynamic and mouth watering menu that takes the finest fish from our shores and around the world and creates dishes that will excite the palate and enthral the eye.
Shane Yardley’s menu offers creative elements such as the cocktail of scampi with Alaskan crab, tomato tea jelly and a delicious celery sorbet from the cured and raw section. Sea truffles including Clevedon oysters, Paua, whitebait and Diver scallops and mains that include a take on the classic surf ‘n Turf. A meal at FISH will not be complete without a show stopping dessert such as Nitro chocolate mousse or the hot and cold pina colada.
Placed centre stage amidst the restaurant is the sharing table where guests can come to enjoy a drink and a lighter meal of Spanish inspired tapas! All served on custom made black slate platters adding a unique and visual extravaganza to what is the epitome of social dining. This menu is only available at the sharing table and again demonstrates the remarkable imagination, talent and flair that Yardley brings to the kitchen.
FISH is a celebration of New Zealand’s finest and freshest seafood alongside the world’s most sought after fruits de mer. The main restaurant menu in itself offers a wide range of intricately created taste combinations that extend beyond fish to include grass fed beef, New Zealand venison and free range organic chicken. Combine this with the extensive tapas menu available at the sharing table and this becomes a restaurant that can literally cater to any taste and satisfy any craving.
FISH is quite simply a unique combination of a breath taking location, Yardley’s imaginative menu, the highest quality ingredients, a relaxed atmosphere all wrapped up in Gault’s indomitable style, with a splash of social dining to boot!

“Room not ready nor as requested”
Arrived at 4.00pm to find room was not ready. Waited for 30 minutes with a complementary drink for our room to be made available. After double checking with the front desk that our room was a ""Twin" room as booked I was not impressed to find that it was in fact a "Queen" room. After another complementary drink and a further 45 minute wait we checked into our room at 5.30pm. This is unacceptable for a hotel with such high standing. However, well located and comfortable.
“The Hilton is awesome”
Great location, great service. The best view of any Hotel in Auckland.
“Everything as expected from the Hilton.”
The only missing ingredient was some character otherwise everything was superb, staff were great.
“Expensive but good”
Good location , had a room with a view of the bay . Very expensive for what it is . Drinks in Bellini Bar overpriced , they even charged us $5 for a bowl of nuts !!!!! Quite pricey when you include breakfast . We were there for 2 nights . Auckland itself as a city is not that attractive , not much to offer
“Flawless Experience!”
My teen daughter and I had flown to Aukland New Zealand for both business and touring. The flight from door to door was nearly 20 hours. We were VERY ready to stop moving and lay down on a comfy bed. Boy were we delighted with this hotel! We showed up 5 hours prior to check-in, but they were ready for us as they had checked our incoming flight!!! Wow! That was the first of many personalized, respectful and just plain nice things they did for us. This is possibly the best hotel I've been in because the staff was THAT spectacular!! The hotel was just as lovely.......great rooms, views, bar, fast room service.....flawless!!!
“will not stay there again due to poor room service and ships docking out side window”
love the location but will not stay there again as l can not stand the sounds of other guest moving around on the decks at night after midnight etc... also room service is a nightmare what you order is not what you get. Also wanted to sit in bed and look at the ocean view but had two cruise ships dock during my stay and had to leave the hotel for the complete day to get some space.
“''Exceptionally Outstanding" Treatment, facilities and location.”
I can"t recommend the Auckland Hilton highly enough, ''Exceptionally Outstanding"
“Wonderful situated and exellent goumet food”
No idea
“Hilton Auckland - Princes Wharf”
Currently the Hilton Auckland - Princes Wharf is having some external construction being performed so many of the "view" rooms have obstructed views. Given that shortage, getting a "view" room proved difficult upon arrival. The on-site manager did not have any room with king "view" when we arrived other than one with a lousy view. After complaining, he did find a room that had two twins and joined them which worked out fine. The view was nice at that point. The staff was Extremely professional and supportive- first rate. The on-site "white" restaurant had great food, but I found the Princes Wharf restaurants and nearby Via Aqueduct Harbour restaurants to have more variety. Great location. Glad I picked it. Also perfectly central for short walks to Ferry Terminal and Greyline Tour buses. It was the perfect "hub" that required no rental car to see the town.
