Very friendly & helpful staff, especially the front desk & bell men. Great location - very near the Placa, Metro Stations & historic sites. Lovely roof top restaurant & a very generous breakfast.

“Head-on Acropolis view”

Athens Gate is very well-located. It is close to the Acropolis Metro Station and near the Acropolis, the Plaka, and many restaurants and shops. The rooftop restaurant where breakfast is served has a head-on view of the Acropolis and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. The staff were extremely helpful.

“Bravo Athens Gate!”

Had adjoining rooms for myself, my husband (queen bed) and my son and daughter (twins). Extremely clean, convenient to all sights by foot, wonderfully helpful but not overbearing staff. check in and out was a breeze, lovely rooftop breakfast included with fantastic view of the acropolis. Even the a/c worked like a charm, which is amazing for Greece in 100 degree weather!

“Great location and experience”

Great location, modern accommodations, very clean, best rooftop breakfast with views of the acropolis either inside or outside on the open surround patio. I was concerned about the lack of recommendation in guide books but I now know it is their oversight. Close to the path going up to the Acropolis, bordered by the Temple of Zeus, Adrian's Gate, National Gardens, just a short walk to the main square of Sigmata, bordering Plaka, the hotel location is perfect. The service is attentive and the overall experience was extremely positive. I travel extensively around the world and have stayed in many hotels some very upscale, others charming, others full of history. I highly recommend Athens Gate.

“Very nice hotel”

Nice hotel. Rooms are in very nice condition and CLEAN! Our rooms were a bit noisy at night due to the traffic on the street. But I don't think it is fair of me to criticize this as I live in a very quiet neighborhood so I am not accustomed to any noise at night. Staff was attentive to our needs. Restaurant on the top of the hotel has incredible dinner menu and chef. Breakfast is included with your stay. It is a typical buffett and was satisfactory. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Staying at thge Athens Gate Hotel”

The Athens Gate Hotel was in a prime location for seeing the sights of Athens. Our room overlooked the Temple of Zeus, a truly memorable sight to wake up to and then to contemplate at the end of the day. We gazed at the Acropois over breakfast. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. The staff of the hotel could not have been more courteous or helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They booked tours, called taxis amd made helpful suggestions throughout our stay. We would warmly recommend that Athens Gate

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great view from pleasant restaurant with good food. Good central location and close to Metro station, shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great location. Better than average breakfast buffet. Great views from rooftop. Room and bathroom are a bit confined but consistent with European standards. Some rooms have a balcony, which is nice.
