“So good!!!!!!!!!!”
I stayed in two hotels in Athens this trip, and this one (the cheaper one) was fantastic value for money. The hotel was newly furbished, very modern, the breakfast very good, and the view from the patio on the top floor unmissable!! The hotel is near the central market, which is a great place to wander through, and even better, is an amazing junk store in the same street, but you must go up to the first floor!! The hotel is easy to get to from several metro stops. I will continue to go back to this gem!
“Wonderful service”
After the airline lost our luggage, the staff stepped in to make repeated calls and succeed in get it delivered. Multiple staff members took an active concern and provided support in many ways. Hotel is very nice and clean. Hot water comes up fast, and the breakfast is large and varied. The area looked a little seedy on a quiet Sunday afternoon as we arrived, but during the week it is a bustling area with street vendors, open markets and fruit/vegetable stands. Many restaurants within walking distance. Easy access to the subway, which we took to and from the airport - one train, no changes.
“What a great find!”
My husband and I had a great stay at Athens Center Square Hotel during our 3-week trip. Room was super clean, contemporary, nicest bathroom we've seen on our trip, great service from staff and an excellent breakfast buffet. What a find! We would definitely return there should we go back to Athens, and we will recommend it to others.
“Great location and nice modern hotel”
We did not have any problems with this hotel, it was in a great location only 5 minutes walk from Monastiraki square and station. At night it is quite and average neigbourhood but we had no issues at all and people left us alone. It has a great view from the roof bar and is definitely worth a look.
“Lived Up to Expectation”
The hotel was everything I needed with it's central location. I had been warned about it's neighboring Central Market stalls, but since I only went out at night by way of taxi, I never felt unsafe as a single woman traveler. The room was modern & clean with a nice view of the Acropolis from the rooftop sitting area. I would be delighted to return.
“Great Value for Central Location”
Used the shuttle from the airport which was a mistake. We were dropped off on Athinas, given bad directions, missed the hotel and ended up in the back streets where everyone says not to go! Should have printed off location map. It is in fact quite easy to find on the left hand side of the square used for the vegetable market,though the doors are disguised with a fruit and vegetable mural. The room was clean and had its own safe and fridge. Our bathroom had a large walk in shower (no bath) but this was no problem. Breakfast was good and although this started at 7.00 am, we discovered the basics were available from around 3.00 am for those on early flights or day trips. We felt very safe in the hotel and outside, so long as you tuned right on Athinas. Approx 5-10 mins to Monastiraki Square and a further 5 mins to the Plaka. The staff were friendly and helpful. Perhaps we were lucky but we were given a complimentary 15 mins internet to print off boarding passes. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
“Great cheap central Athens Hotel!”
This is a great hotel if you want to stay centrally in Athens without paying too much. We recently spent 3 nights here and were really impressed, all the staff were so helpful, and offered us useful advice even when we hadn't asked them anything. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was really good. The only slight negative would be that we didn't feel 100% safe when walking back late at night, although nothing happened to us! And in the daytime there is a fantastic, bustling Fruit and Veg market outside. Overall we would defintely recommend this hotel, great location, excellent staff, clean and comfortable, and an absolute bargain too!
“Very Satisfied!”
Good location, helpful staff who knew English. Very modern and a nice view of the Acropolis from the rooftop patio (and the windows in the stairway). Fruit and vegetable market on same street as the hotel is a bonus. Rooms were clean, comfortable bed and the complimentary breakfast was the best we've had on our vacation.
“Brilliant!”
This is the best place we have stayed in Athens. Only a short walk from Omonia or Monistraki stations and convenient for the Plaka. The room was spacious, modern and immaculate. Breakfast buffet (included in the price) had everything you could want, including delicious fresh fruit salad. The manageress spoke to each guest at breakfast, asking how she could help make their stay in Athens more enjoyable and was very helpful finding information for our onward journey. We will definitely come back again.
“Great place to stay!”
I was nervous because I saw reviews saying the hotel was in a seedy neighborhood, but I was very pleased with the location and thought it was a great value. It's on a side street that by day serves as a vegetable market. It is a little dark and if you're the nervous type you may be, well, nervous, but I did not feel at all vulnerable going out at night. You're a 5 minute walk from the ancient agora, shopping, bars, and restaurants and we could see the acropolis from our room. Staff was very pleasant, breakfast was good, and room was very clean. It's not a luxury hotel, but it's a great value.
