“Hotel Smit”
Room was small and unimpressive, yet clean. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. There were few amenities, but will likely stay here again as this hotel offers great value.
“Nice, Moderately-Priced Hotel in Central Amsterdam”
I go to Amsterdam a couple of times a year and this hotel is my favorite. It's located between the Leidseplein and the Museumplein in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It's accessible by tram but close enough to everything to walk. The staff is helpful and friendly. Be sure to say hi to Max, the hotel cat.
“Excellent localization at Amsterdam”
The best localization at Amsterdam but poor service. The smell of the bathroom was terrible.
“Location and price swayed me...”
Make no mistake, you can throw a stone and hit the Rijksmuseum and easily walk to the other museums in Museumplein, but the room is nothing more than a place to sleep and shower...by American standards TINY doesn't cover it - my master BR closet is bigger than my room !!! If you came to sightsee not relax in luxury its an OK place to stay.
“Great location!”
Hotel is in a fantastic location. Right beside the museums close to trams and busses as well as the canals and great night life. A 5 min walk brings you to an area full of bars,pubs,restaurants, and shops of all sorts. The hotel is old but has character and is clean. Staff was great and our room had a beautiful view with a large window that fully opened. This place is by no means a 5* luxury hotel but for a young couple on budget it was ideal and it would have been hard to find a better location.
“I should have listened to other reviewers”
You can get a much better deal at other nearby hotels. The corner location is very noisy. If the weather is warm, the rooms are unbearable. Only one small window opens and no there is no fan.
“Good location is all to be said”
The Hotel would be better closing altogether whilst this extensive building work is being carried out. At the moment it is nothing like it appears in the brouchure. Fortunately we had good weather and were out and about most of our stay.
