“Incredible Service”
We went to this hotel at the beginning of the "off" season in late September. Their service was incredible, and the views from the hotel were gorgeous. The morning breakfast buffet is well worth the inclusion in your room rate, as it is a comprehensive offering of just about anything that you could want. The restaurants were quite pricey but offered excellent food choices. However, we were disappointed to discover that their definition of a king bed was two twin beds pushed together, as this was our honeymoon.
“Nice hotel in Altea”
Hotel is very nice, comfortable clean rooms. Grounds are very nice with 3 swimming pools, tennis courts and poolside bar/restaurant. Food is quite good, especially the buffet. Staff are helpful, only downside is there is always a queue at the reception desk as only 2 staff members there at one time. Overall the hotel is very nice.
“Goodchill out if you don't mind lots of children”
This was a fab hotel for chilling out by the pool or at the spa. It is a bit further out than we thought from Altea so if we go again (and we would stay here again) then we would hire a car as the worst thing about the hotel is the restaurants and I would defintiely reccommend going elsewhere to eat in the evening (altea is the obvious choice although there are probably lots of local places cheaper than Altea but you need to have a drive to find them really). The breakfast is excellent although the hot counter (bacon etc.) was not kept warm enough so was always cold by the time you returned to table to eat it. The rooms are very modern and comfortable, only dow side is that there is no tea or coffee making facilities. If we graded the hotel we would say it is an excellent 4 star, but not 5 star because of the service. We would definitely stay there again though and would reccommend it but would defeinityly not reccommend going full board. We did go in August so new to expect lots of children which was fine mostof thetime apart from one evening we decided to eat in the main restaurant and the atmosphere was far from "romantic and relaxed" (lots of screaming and running around etc.!)
“At best a 4*”
On the plus side, the hotel room was spacious, comfortable with a good bathroom - downside of the room was that there is no hospitality tray. Breakfast buffet was extensive and of a very good quality. Please note, that although the hotel description includes an indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room, guests are unable to use these facilities unles you pay an additional (not insignificant) charge per visit - have to say that I've never visited a 5* hotel where standard hotel facilities haven't been included before! I would rate this hotel as a 4* and most definitely not a 5*.
“Disgusted a complete waste of time and a great way to start a divorce”
We stayed at this hotel expecting a 5 star hotel only to arrive and find that nothing was open the restaurants were closed, pool bar shut and not one supermarket or local shop to buy things. it was a taxi ride to the nearest town costing 20 euros there and back daily which is allot over a week. if your relationship is not strong enough to stand being bored, having no food available, limited alcohol/drinks, as service takes 30 mins plus (on a good day)then DONT go here. Room service was a rip off, what more can i say, will we return - not if we were paid too. Is it worth it - NO. If you want to be away from night life and have the option of eating etc, this is still not the place to be. If you want to be in the middle of no where, not be able to purchase cigarettes and spend all day complaining then go here.
