This is a Gem of a hotel and a pleasant walk from Old Town (about 20 mins). Staff are lovely and friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is plentiful with a good selection at the buffet. Hotel is spotless and gardens, pool and communal areas are so well tended. We will definitely return.

Basic hotel
We were very disappointed with this Hotel. We arrived just after midnight on a late flight and there was not even any complimentary water or snacks in the room. You would need to purchase this from the bar. The mini fridge was empty, no kettle provided. Asked for an iron and was told they don't provide irons and would need to ask laundry service in the morning and pay a charge which is billed to your room. Nothing to hang your wet clothes on the balcony. Considering the beach is so close you would think they would have a drying rack for wet clothes. The TV was a small 20-22". Bathroom was very small. There were no maps and no tourist information. The taxi to the airport costs you over 40€ (10 min drive) when there is no traffic. Flight was early in the morning and was told they would prepare a cold breakfast packed which we could collect night before. Thought that was kind of them. But, when we went to reception was told there is nothing the person responsible must have forgotten. Wow amazing customer service they forgot!! The gentleman at reception in the morning was kind enough to give us bottled water and orange juice. Breakfast was the only positive about this hotel. The hot tubs we were told only had cold water. Interior decor could do with an upgrade. Rating 1 star and that's for the breakfast only. Very dissatisfied.

Dear Mr Sarbjit,Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Hotel Florida Alghero.We are very sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations, we would like to clarify and explain some details reported in your review, for you and for future guests.As you can read in the terms and conditions of your reservation, regarding the services of the hotel, we do not provide complimentary snacks and drinks, we are a 3 stars hotel and we simply do not offer this service which you can usually find in 4 or 5 stars hotels.The minibar in the room is left empty on purpose, as you can use it for your own drinks/food.For safety reasons and for preventing accidents, we are not allowed by the law to provide irons in the rooms, however, we have a laundry service at your disposal.Also, the racks for drying your clothes/towels are not provided but you can leave them to dry in the balcony on the chairs or on the balustrade.At the reception our staff have all the information about the city and the excursions available in the area, you should have asked to the front desk if you needed some maps or excursion programs. Taxis are not related to the hotel, however, we wish to inform you that the price is around 25 euros from the airport to the hotel, with an extra rate for night/early morning rides.Furthermore, our jacuzzi/whirlpools – available for all our guests – are never advertised as “hot tubs”, as the water is not heated, therefore, we recommend you to ask the hotel or to read carefully about the facilities of any property before making a reservation.We apologize for the breakfast box that was promised and never handed out to you, this is something that we will surely check with our responsible to never make it happen again.We hope you had a nice journey back home, and we hope to welcome you again as to provide you with a better experience than your previous holiday.Best Regards,Hotel Florida Management

Enjoyable stay.
The staff members are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is excellent with the beach across the road. The old town is a 25 minute walk away. The bedrooms are small and the breakfast is disappointing. The fruit is mostly tinned and the cooked breakfast is poor.

Overall a very enjoyable holiday.
Brilliant balcony with sea view. Night times were either stuffy and hot with the doors shut or noisy with the doors open. AC was provided which was noisy to run and gave off a musty sort of smell. We also had issues with insect bites. The pool was just a little on the cold side. It would be extremely useful for the hotel to have its own airport pick up service that was reliable. We ordered transport through the hotel but were just sent a message by the taxi driver to wait in the queue with everyone else. The beachside cocktail bars were amazing.

Great place to stay in Alghero, in front of the beach, very nice pool area and the staff was super helpful all the time. The location is also a great plus, 10 min walking to the beautiful historic center and plenty of restaurants nearby. We went with our 2 little kids and they loved it.

Excellent Stay
My friends and I had a wonderful 4-day stay in Hotel Florida. Hotel staff are very kind and helpful. They went above and beyond to work with us for our early check-in and late check-out request. Rooms are spotless clean. Large selections of breakfast every day. Pool and hot tub are prefect for relaxation. Great location within walking distance to old town. Bus stations are right next to the hotel, easy to catch airport bus or beach bus. Overall, we are very happy with our stay in Hotel Florida. I will recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation.

it was pleasent stay indeed. location is perfect, walking distance to the old town. stuff was so kind, quite helpful. hotel is a bit aged, bur well preserved and quite clean. we did not eat in for lunch or dinner, because there are nice restaurant at old town with amazing sunset!!

The hotel was ok. We started off with parking in their gated parking area but found easy parking on the street. So we saved 10 eu per day. Beach towels cost 3 eu for your stay. The towel was good for pool or beach. I felt like I was being nickels and dimed for every little thing. I would not stay there again.

Hotel is right on the beach and short walk to the old city. Hotel staff was great and room newly renovated with awesome views from the spacious balcony. Will stay here again. You won't be disappointed

Really nice hotel right across from the beach.
We had an issue on the check in, as we were told by the lady at the front desk that "there is no parking available for us as parking is booked up". She was not very interested in helping us find other alternatives. Upon sharing this 'check in experience' with Expedia we got an email response from the hotel couple of hours later, stating we will be able to park in the hotel parking. Other than that first initial encounter which I would rate as worst I have ever witnessed at any hotel, the staff was absolutely amazing during the reminder of our 5 day stay. Absolutely fabulous. It might of been a just one of for the lady as she was the person who we went through at the check out time and she was much warmer and very friendly. So friendly that she offered to pack us breakfast as we were checking out before breakfast opened. I have never witnessed this kind of friendliness. Very nice! it is little things like this that go long ways. Room with view was fantastic as we had a beautiful view of the beach and then beautiful pool. Alghero old town was 15 minute walk from the hotel, a stunning beach was 15 minutes walk in the other direction, and the beach immediately in front of hotel was quite alright as well. The best beach on Sardinia, Spiaggia della Pelosa is a short 45 min drive. While many guests just enjoyed the stunning hotel pool. Drinks by the pool were great, and again servers very friendly. Breakfast is included and is alright - buffet. Very enjoyable stay!

A great few days stay, nice hotel, short walk into Alghero town, good value. Only negative for me was pool and jacuzzis were both freezing and not heated at all. Would have been nice if they were a bit warmer

Very friendly hotel on the beach.
Perfect location on beach. 20 min walk to lovely old town with more than enough restaurants, boat trips etc. Staff lovely and very professional. Pool great. Jacuzzis were cold but I guess that would be nice on a hot day. September visit - weather mainly sunny, some rain, good breeze. Would return to Alghero and this hotel.

Excellent location in Alghero
Very polite staff always happy to assist in any queries. Short stroll to old town 10-15mins. Had a very good sized room with beach view. Beach across the road is ok but recommend Mia Pia beach which is a 15 minute walk heading south, away from the old town. Also another plus is the 3 open air bars located across from the hotel on the beach promenade. Excellent way to spend a night winding down with a cocktail or two.

Great location and hotel right across from the water. Nothing fancy, but clean and very accommodating. The staff was absolutely wonderful and welcoming. They spoke English and was able to help with any questions. The breakfast wasn't good. If you want basic, it is fine. But after the second day of having eggs, we decided to not eat down there. There is a pool but did not go in it, as you are literally on the water. Definitely request ocean view, as the other views are rather not that pretty. Nothing to see on the other side of the hotel. Great location to travel from Alghero and visit other areas in Sardegna. Highly suggest renting a car and driving around. Beautiful place to visit. Also, with parking, you can park at the hotel for a fee each day. We parked on the street and everyday after 5 pm, we were able to find a spot right behind the hotel. You need to find space that has white line, not blue, and you can park in that spot for free and for as long as you want. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Fantastic time was had here. the location is excellent, the beach opposite and a lovely prom to walk into the old town. We had a great stay. the hotel is very clean and we had a lovely room with a fantastic sea view.

Hotel florida is in such a great location right on the beach and a lovely 10min stroll along the promenade to the old town. The hotel itself is nothing special and is clearly way beyond its peak condition. I particularly didn't like the extra charges for using the gym, playing snooker, and use of pool towels. I was a bit surprised by that tbh. The staff were nice but could be a bit more friendly and provide more details about touring around. All in all the hotel served us well for our stay.

Nice hotel close to the beach
Good friendly staff and great location, well worth a visit to Mugoni beach (about a 40 minute bus ride away) for even whiter sand and unbelievably clear water. Worth renting a deluxe sun bed for an extra euro if you get the option for a truly comfortable snooze in the sun.

The hotel definitely needs modernising in some areas... -the rooms are out dated and the air conditioning unit was covered in rust -Wi-Fi is only available in reception However, the hotel is on the beach and the pool area is just lovely

Wonderful Relaxing Holiday A++++
My partner and me have just come back from 1 week at Hotel Florida, we had a great time and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and the room was spotless everyday so thank you so very much. The hotel is nice and quiet, I think it's very well suited to mid to older generation looking for a peaceful holiday. The pool area opens at 9am so no need to have to get up at 6 to put towels out and plenty of sun beds for all. Also fantastic wheelchair access. We went BB and the breakfast was very nice but I can't comment on the evening meal but heard it was nice food. Again, a big thank you to all the staff at Hotel Florida.
