“Quiet and Comfortable Stopover”
This hotel was chosen as an overnight stop on the drive south to Andalucia and southern Spain. Although it was some 20km off the E5 the diversion was well worth it. Hotel is situated on the outskirts of Alcazar de San Juan and has a gated entrance with car park in the hotel grounds only a few yards from reception.Our room was spacious and relaxing with a large sofa. There is a small bar on the ground floor and access to a "wellness" centre for guests. The dining/breakfast room is also on the ground floor. Buffet style breakfast was very good. A very comfortable nights stop.
“Probably the best hotel in Alcazar”
The only drawback with this hotel is that it is on the other side of town from the railway station. There's a taxi rank outside the station but you may have to drag the driver out of the bar opposite! The hotel itself is modern and, although on a main road, the room I was in was at the back, very quiet, with a balcony overlooking the garden and open air pool. The reception staff were efficient and spoke good English. They also arranged a taxi to get me back to the station on the morning of departure. The room was large and comfortable with a large double bed and the bathroom was immaculate, well-lit and well-stocked. The one slight problem was that I could hear people moving about in the next room, especially footsteps on the wooden floors, and they could probably hear me and my squeaky bathroom door in the middle of the night. The restaurant has an excellent menu. There's a version in English but the translator was not up to the task, so there was a bit of guesswork in selecting dishes. The young barman doubled as the waiter. He was very pleasant and well-presented but his English was not much better than my Spanish. The food was excellent and everything was well-served. Sadly, there was only one other table occupied so there was no real atmosphere. Breakfast offered a good range of juices, cold meats, bread products, conserves etc. with the same waiter in attendance (I assume he gets some time off). I do recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Alcazar.
