“Great location.”
Stay here each time in Adelaide due to its great location, good service and facilities eg pick up for day trips, cab/shuttle bus for airport, etc.
“Beware charged for free breakfast”
Booked five nights for two with "Sale - Free Breakfast for 2 Daily" and was charged full price for breakfast at end of stay. Not impressed!
“It's all about parking”
I drove to Adelaide in a hire car and expected to be allocated a self-parking spot at an arranged price of $17/day. On arrival I was told this service is not available and would have to use valet parking ($40 plus/day) or make my own parking arrangements. After getting the run-around I eventually negotiated valet parking for $17/day with the duty -manager, but this required that you give at least 40 minute notice to get your car out. It was such a hassle that I ended up using public transport and parked the hire car for 4 days. If I had known beforehand I would have ditched the hire car on arrival. The hotel is in a fantastic location with easy access to train/tram and bus services as well as central to shopping/casino parks and entertainment venues. The hotel restaurants are so-so but ask the valet and they can direct you to some top dinning spots within walking or tram distance. The hotel needs a face lift but the rooms are clean and comfortable. Make sure you get a room away from the lifts as they make a lot of racket.
“What a dump!!!!”
No air conditioning, dirty room, smelly room bad internet, rude staff. We booked 2 hotels on our visit to Adelaide through expedia. The Stamford plaza was a dump. The Sebel Playford was magnificent. It restored our faith in Expedia. Just wondering how both hotels could earn a 4 star rating
“Give it a miss!”
This was part of a birthday gift and was very dissapointed with the experience of the hotel. Quite old and run down, remote didn`t work, valet parking over the top $26 and we were locked out of our room when returned from breakfast despite being given an hour extension on checkout. Had to wait approx. 40 minutes to get back into room, despite numerous phone calls. Not the kind of gift that it was meant to be. Am starting to wonder if expedia are being given what is left over after everyone else has there room. allocated.
“good hotel, good location.”
I was in Adelaide for 4N/5D for a break. Booked everything through Expedia. Everything was as per my expectation, plus an added pleasant surprise. I booked a Superior City View room. I requested higher floor, no smoking, room far from the lifts, and late check-out of 2pm. I got all my requests, except that I forgot to request for an early check-IN. Arrived at Adelaide at 8.30am. Arrived hotel at about 9.00am. Was advised by front desk that I have the option to pay an extra AUD$20.00 for early check-in or wait until 1.00pm for regular check-in. I said I'll pay the extra early check-in fee. In 30minutes, I got my room. and here is the pleasant surprise -- my room was on the 19th floor, with the park view (instead of city view), of which I am very happy about. The view was spectacular! (Thanks Chandrajith!) Everything was within walking distance. Just in front of the hotel – casino, tram stop, free bus stop, cafes, atm’s, etc... Close walk to Rundle Mall. Staff were helpful, informative and professional. Concierge assisted us with hiring a car, and making reservations to a restaurant. (Thanks David!) The rest of the days of my stay has been smooth, pleasant and without hitches. Just how I had wanted it. If I visit Adelaide again, I will definitely stay at this hotel again.
“Centrally located Adelaide hotel”
I stayed at the Stamford Plaza for 4 nights and it was a great location right on Nth Terrace- easy to access buses, taxis, trams and short walk to most places. Great comfortable room. Helpful staff. fridge in room to store won drinks and food. There was also a toaster which i did not use. The rooftop pool and spa was very pleasant as it wa swarm so i used thta few times. i have stayed at several places in Adelaide and for a mid range cost it was definitely the best.

“Great 5 days stay”
great view over the park, very central to shopping and resturants, attractions and transport. Hotel resturants were a litte too fancy and expensive for us.
“Very handy location”
Apart from this really good hotel, the location at the north end of the city is perfect to access the barossa, adelaide oval, casino etc.
