“Adelaide Oaks”
This building is fairly new, it is more like service apartments than hotel rooms. If you are on vacation and need all the services a full hotel offers you might be dissapointed, but if you want somewhere clean and tidy to stay for business, this is the place. Staff were good, there is limited free parking, its location is OK, the rates are good. I plan on using it again for future trips.
“Oaks new with allthe mode cons but noisy”
The 24 hour reception and friendly staff greeted me on arrival. Having checked in I proceeded to my 1 bedroom apartment. The apartment was spacious and clean. The view however from the ground floor was on to a hole in the ground so the curtains stayed drawn. There were all the items you would need in the room (kettle, toaster, iron). The bed was comfortable however it was quite noisy with the dings from the lift and the wind whistling every time the lift moved. Overall the experience was good and good value.
“Perfect apartment but neighbourhood a little noisy”
This was a perfect spot to stay for a few days. Squeaky clean and very well appointed. A bit noisy on weekend nights due to a local bar, but otherwise it was ideal. Would recommend it highly and would stay here again any time.
“Two totally different experiences with a deluxe apartment”
We had prebooked to stay one night at the beginning of our trip and one night at the end. On the first night, we arrived in the evening and were allocated a really substandard apartment. There were large stains on the carpet, the apartment smelled of stale smoke and all furniture and fittings had seen better days! This was a big disappointment and not what we had expected after reading glowing reviews from other travellers. We complained as we left the following morning - and requested a better room for the night we had booked at the end of the week. The apartment we were given at the end of the week was lovely, very clean, modern and new, with commanding views across Adelaide. Such a different experience! I suggest to any travellers that they request one of the newer apartments rather than risk being allocated the grotty older ones.
“Most pleasantly surprised”
We had not stayed at an apartment hotel before, and accept that it may not have been built with us in mind, but we were most pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the welcome, the design of the apartment, the level of comfort, and the view. It was a most relaxing stay, the hotel's proximity to Gouger Street was a real bonus, and our ability to come and go easily added to the quality of our visit to Adelaide. If the odd suggestion is helpful, we found the pillows a little soft, and the light-coloured carpet rather impractical. Minor quibbles.
“Best Find”
What a find!!! The Oaks Precinct at check in clearly explained all services, and supplemented this with a quick guide. Check in was smooth and quick. The room was very comfortable. The pool and sauna was great and properly maintained. When going back to Adelaide, I will stay here again. The centre of the CBD was a comfortable 15 minute walk from the hotel
“Will definitely stay the same when return.”
Everything was well beyond our expectation! Roomy apartment, new and clean room, reception was very helpful. Location close to central market and city. Rates competitive. 5 stars!
“Good for self-caterers”
We stayed in a near-new 2 bedroom apartment in the second high-rise building. The building itself is non-descript - we nearly walked straight by it! Otherwise, the location was good - within walking distance to Gouger St and Rundle Mall. Our apartment was well stocked with kitchen utensils and on the whole, was clean. The beds were comfortable. There was some road noise overnight, so light sleepers should bring their earplugs. Minor quibbles - the lack of a compendium in the room and no telephone. Overall, we were happy with our stay. Would recommend for those who wish to self-cater, not for those who like hotel service!
“Fantastic”
This is more of an apartment hotel than a traditional hotel. There is housekeeping and staff at the front desk 24/7 but not most other typical hotel services. We had a one bedroom with a full kitchen and washer & dryer. All the appliances looked new and worked fine. All the furnishings were contemporary and well kept. Overall, the apartment was clean and well maintained. The bathroom was spacious and had a large shower. Like the rest of the apartment, the bathroom was practically spotless. The Oaks is within a 10-15 minute walking distance to Central Market, countless restaurants, Rundle Mall, and museums. We were completely satisfied with our stay and would recommend the Oaks to those looking for more an apartment rather a typical hotel. When we booked, the rates were less than the luxury hotels in Adelaide, so it was also a good deal for us.
“Comfort and convenience in Adelaide city”
New, fresh apartments in a good central location, easy access to main city attractions, good helpful staff. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, markets. Apartments well fitted out, good facilities, great shower, very quiet even on the street side.
