“Modern, clean, friendly, and good location”

Great hotel! I stay at Hilton brand hotels and this has to be one of the best. First, it's only a year old, so it's in great condition. Second, the breakfast buffet is outstanding, with a huge selection and great coffee (unusual for hotels). Third, the service staff in the restaurant and bar were wonderfully friendly and helpful -- they're young, respectful, and enthusiastic. (I can't say the front desk staff were overly friendly or enthusiastic, but they weren't bad, either.) Finally, the workout room was WONDERFUL -- new equipment, clean, and sufficiently cold to keep me moving when I warmed up. Seriously, I wish my gym at home were this good. It probably helped that no one else was using it during the two times I did. :-)

Area recommendations

Well, Aberdeen isn't huge. As in any city, I would recommend staying in the central city (where the Hilton Garden Inn is located), particularly if you are a solo traveler and don't have a car.
