On Kos flat north coast, this peaceful resort lies 12 kilometres west of Kos Town. The long beach has fine golden sand backed by dunes and offers water sports, notably windsurfing. Part of the beach is reserved for nudists. Facilities include several small, reasonably priced hotels, traditional Greek tavernas and low-key bars. The nearby salt marsh attracts migrating birds such as flamingos. Excursion boats run to the nearby island of Pserimos.
