"First time in Rome"
Hotel Sonya provided a good value. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet more than adequate. The room was small, but probably no more so that common in large cities. The only complaint was that the air conditioning was inadequate for the June heat. It is possible that we just did not understand how to control it, but the room was never really cool.

"Lovely view of St Peters"
Modern and inviting hotel with excellent location near the Vatican and train station. Staff was friendly however my only disappointment was the room size and lack of requested single beds. I was traveling with a friend and we found it difficult to share a double bed since we are average to large sized adults. There was little to no room to walk around the bed. It turned out we were actually given a single room when a double economy was requested and priced. The breakfast buffet on the roof top was lovely.

"Keep searching"
Other than being handy for easy transit by train this hotel lacked a decent breakfast, room needed a good vaccuum, the dust and skin flakes under the bed and bedside tables was scary and the mould in the bathroom was frightening, the lift just held two people and two bags, if your smart at breakfast ask for a real coffee, it's about the only good thing at this hotel, can't control aircon from room and television reception was pathetic, I would not stay here again, I felt it a health risk especially as my wife is an asthmatic, overall the worst European hotel I have had the displeasure staying at and I don't hesitate paying for decent accommodation but this hotel needs to lift its game. Pop P Ps , they all seem to think they have special privileges when presenting overpriced accommodation.
