On Kos north coast, five kilometres from the airport, Mastichari is relatively cheap and less commercial than Kos other resorts, although it is expanding. Ideal for families looking for relaxation, it offers a decent sand beach lined with sunloungers and backed by bars and tavernas. The nearby Lido Water Park has a large wave pool, lazy river and giant slides. Regular daily ferries connect Mastichari with the sponge-diving island of Kalymnos.
